Shirts I snagged from Threadless during thier $10 sale. Except for the Plaid-apus, I bought that one from [livejournal.com profile] jisuk and it showed up on the same day! Huzzah!

Haha. So my desktop is up and running again (power was out upstairs for a bit because of a finicky breaker) and I've been using my laptop for SO LONG now that my desktop monitor is some strange beast. I love it, don't get be wrong. It's FUCKALL HUEG and was only $8, which Angie and I went halfsies on back when we lived in the trailer, so it's like it was only $4. But, seriously, it's a massive beast of a CRT. Much bigger and bulkier than a standard CRT monitor.

But I took screencaps to give an idea of the difference in size, kind of. My laptop is 15" and runs 1366x768. My desktop is like, 18" (probably?) and runs 1280x1204. It's great for doing art on though, because I don't have to zoom in a lot.

Downside is I had to spend a bunch of time tweaking the color settings and all that on the CRT because nothing quite matched my laptop and things were either too contrast-y or too dark. Seems better now, though~ Now to try and get everything on the desktop sync'd up with my laptop...

Well, well, well. Look who finally has a laptop! Sure, it's a cheap little emachines thing from Walmart. But I only paid $300-some for it and it suits my needs quite well. It also has more harddrive space than my PC, so there's that. I have to pick up a mouse and one of those little stands so the fan doesn't overheat or anything. But it's pretty nice and Windows 7 is shiny.

Other than that, bills have been getting paid and we bought house necessities. Bought a little bit of clothes and some stuff for the dog. Also got flea stuff for the animals, which is good.

Classes start tomorrow. I only have one class on M, T, and R. Two classes on W. It's a weird schedule, but I don't mind because I'm still job hunting and it'll leave time open for that if I acquire anything.

I rented Alan Wake. It's hard (even on Normal), but it's pretty good so far.

I thought I had more to write about, but I guess not. At least, not that I can think of at the moment. Haven't been online a whole lot lately, it's been hot so we've been sleeping quite a bit during the days.

Why do I have to have a Macintosh?
This platform is the industry standard, and our classroom instruction is based on Mac versions of the software.

How much do class supplies cost?
Required class supplies and equipment vary widely with areas of concentration.

Computer
First-year design students are required to buy a Macintosh laptop as well as specific software programs for spring semester. Software manufacturers update their products every 18–24 months, so students will probably need to buy an upgrade before they graduate. Most students find it helpful to have their own printer. A typical price for a Macintosh laptop is $1800. The three primary graphic software packages are bundled and sell for a total of $350. These prices are for products purchased via the KSUAppleStore.

Camera
First-year Photo Illustration students will need a single lens reflex (D-SLR) camera ranging in price from $1100 to $2000.
Second-year design students will need a basic digital camera ranging in price from $1100 to $2000.

FFS, college, you're going to be the goddamn death of me.

I want to do VCD. There's a lot of classes I want to take under the VCD umbrella.

I do not, in any way, want to buy a Macbook. Anything I'd need to do on a Macbook, I can do perfectly well on a laptop/PC. The "industry standard" label can suck my ass because as long as you have the industry standard applications, it doesn't matter what platform you're working on. The mere fact that I'd be REQUIRED to blow $2000 on a system I don't want to use is absurd.

Maybe if I could get a Macbook for $700 or UNDER, I'd consider it. but educational discounts are only $100 on Macbooks. Which is, like, nothing in comparison.

Yes, I know they have (pretty cheap) monthly payments. And, if I had to, I could pay half and half each semester. BUT IT'S A THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T ANY MORE SPECIAL THAN A LAPTOP. I'm not paying for your BRAND, thankyouverymuch.

Plus, if I'm going to blow $1000 on something, it's going to be a Cintiq.

You know what else I could do with $1800?
- buy a car
- pay my rent for 3 months

At least, with the camera requirements, it's easier to get those sort of things secondhand that are still in amazing condition. Most photographers take excellent care of their equipment. I am, however, boggling at a $1000-$2000 digital camera. What are you doing with it? Contacting astronauts? Fuck.

Okay, so, a little help from my more tech-savvy f-list would be effing awesome.

I have a home network set up. I've never encountered this issue that's currently happening before. I have two PCs on the connection and one wired laptop (always wired while at home) and the XBox 360 (which is normally off and really only used to watch videos with). We generally have no issues with lag (aside form Time Warner just being a tard) with this setup. The one PC is running Windows XP, the other two have Windows Vista.

Enter Angie's laptop. She's running Windows 7. It's a new laptop, bought within the last three months.

When we connect Angie's laptop (wireless OR wired) to our network, our internet all but drops out on us. MASSIVE lag, websites regularly timing out, etcera.

Her computer is clean of any viruses or malware that might be pulling on the connection. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why, when she connects her laptop, the internet connection goes to hell.

She doesn't have this problem on campus or using the wifi at her work, but she has the problem at our house and on her home connection.

Any ideas?

FFS

Going back 375 entries on [livejournal.com profile] fanmix under the Supernatural tag (because after that it defaults to day view)...out of those 375 entries there are:

- 95 solo fanmixes
- 67 general fanmixes (either the show in general, a theme or a specific episode)
- 25 heterosexual mixes (not counting crossover mixes)

Everything else? Sam/Dean, Sam/Castiel, Sam or Dean slash some other random male character or threesomes with Sam and Dean. And this tiny, tiny handful of femslash mixes (Anna/Ruby, Ruby/Bela, Jo/Jess). And, weirdly enough, a few Dean/Ruby (SOMEONE EXPLAIN THAT LOGIC TO ME) mixes. HEY WHERE'S THE MIXES FOR BOBBY? HUH? IS BOBBY NOT COOL ENOUGH FOR YOU GUYS? OR PAMELA?? There was a Trickster mix as well as an Azrael mix. So go figure.

God, that's so, so, SO sad.

WHY SO MUCH GAY, SPN FANDOM?

BUT I FOUND DEAN/ANNA MIXES. AND DEAN/JO MIXES. AND ANNA/CASTIEL MIXES. SO THAT'S PRETTY COOL.

We went out to Angie's this weekend because he computer pretty much crashed and burned and she needed my HALP.

I spent, no shit, at least twenty hours fixing it. It was giving a blue screen on bootup and I couldn't even boot into safe mode. So I had to spend time burning stuff onto disc from TJ's laptop to try on her computer. Everything from drivers to, what eventually made progress, booting up past Windows with Puppy Linux (which, oh my god, was a lifesaver). Eventually, I got her stuff backed up and I reformatted the OS partition and did a fresh install of XP.

Three times.

I accidentally did a parallel install and then things weren't working quite right on the newer install, so I just did a proper (not quick) format and everything is dandy now!

I felt pretty accomplished.

We had taken the 360 so we could watch Supernatural with Angie, but I forgot the TV cable. DURP. But we ended up watching gag reels for Supernatural (because they're pretty much spoiler-less) and FRUITHAT. Also, the Top 100 Song of the 90s which just made me feel OLD and NOSTALGIC.

We also did retarded headpeople stuff because we're fuckin' awesome.

Now, TJ and I are fighting. Pfft. Go figure. It's been awhile though, was probably coming anyhow.
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
Welp.

I bought a pair of skinny jeans.

I know, I know. I said NEVER, but we see how that usually goes with clothes and I. In my defense (which is pretty flimsy) they're REALLY SUPER COMFY, they make my ass and legs (of which are both awesome to begin with) look FABULOUS and I only paid $9 for them. They have a bit of flare at the bottom (like they're straight leg from the knee down), so I can cope with that. I just really loathe pants being anywhere above the shoe/shock area unless they're capris or shorter. The term 'highwaters' barrages me from my youth.

Really, I was just happy to find some comfortable pants I liked after looking in almost every store around. TJ stopped at Burlington Coat Factory while we were out today and a lot of clothes were on clearance, so I guess I lucked out. I got a pair of flare-leg jeans that are super comfy, as well.

I also almost bought this for Angie's fem!Adrian getup, but I wasn't sure if she wanted/needed it. I tried it on because, hell, from the neck down Angie and I have pretty much the same body. I am also TOTALLY sucking my stomach in in that picture.

I think, tomorrow, we're going to maybe go see Inglourious Basterds (also known as Steph And Eddie Curbstomp Some Natzis). We were going to go today, but we ended up dicking around doing other stuff and didn't want to pay for the night showings. Yes, we're cheap. We were also going to see it at the drive-in, but it's playing with A Perfect Getaway and, quite frankly, if I'm going to the drive-in, I'm going to want to watch BOTH movies. And I have no desire to see the latter.

It's so so so so nice to run all of my shit and my computer not lag. Ooooh my god. I can run WoW and nothing lags. It's amazing.

Oh god, classes start on Monday. I really hope I'm ready for this. I mean, it's not like it's a HUEG amount of stuff or anything. I'm only in class M-T-W-R, but I just realized I have to actually get back on a schedule of some sort. Since I'll be going to campus at 9AM-ish (I think) with TJ on M-W because his classes are early and mine aren't until 10AM. Then a hour and a half break around noon-time before Math I & II. We both have drawing on W-R which is nice, though. He also has Oceanography afterwards, but I actually don't mind being on campus extra time because it means I can work on things instead of being distracted by computer stuff. HOPEFULLY Drawing will inspire me enough and I'll get a lot of art stuff done in the hour or so I'm waiting around!

I acquired a new computer this evening.

Vista is a bit of the Devil's creation. It really, truly is. I do not need my operating system dumbed down for me. I do not need everything moved around and changed. Why fix what's not broken? I'll be going back to XP as soon as I re-aquire the disc from Friend Rob. Because, really, this should be running faster. While, yes, it runs faster than my old computer, it does not run as fast as I believe it should. Plus, I know EVERYTHING works with XP and I know how to run it properly.

So I'll suffer through Vista, as pretty as it is, until I can go back to XP.

However, the new computer is named Archimedes and will be decorated with OWL STICKERS when I find some cute ones. I also need to reorganized my entire desk and shit so that I can put Archie somewhere that isn't on the floor where he is now. And put Candyland (my old comp) somewhere where I can still access it if I need to.

Got a bunch of stuff to pick up today. Textbooks, house stuff, critter things.

I think we're going to trek up to Cleveland area to hit up the asian markets for some food and tastybits. Thinking about buying a new rice cooker, since I pretty much destroyed the metal bowl for the last one.

I wanted to pick up some clothes when we had gone to Walmart, but I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy. I need more jeans, as most of mine are on their last leg. I wear them until they wear thin in the inner thigh region and then they end up tearing. But that's what I get for not rotating them out often enough. I just get comfortable in a pair and I'll wear them until they're destroyed. I'd also like to find a decent bag for school, especially if I need to walk or bike (gotta get tires for the bikes, as well!). I have a messenger bag, but it's been through a lot, so I should probably get something new and not as broken in.

And, despite TJ trying to mock me into them, I'm NOT buying skinny jeans. I HATE them.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE

After spending most of the afternoon at the mall, I couldn't find SHIT in the way of jeans or clothes. Despite having some money, I'm still cheap because if I can find cheap clothes I can buy MORE of them. But nothing jumped out at me and they only things I ended up buying were a new Halloween owl shirt from Target, a cupcake Hello kitty bag on clearance at Toys R Us, a big whiteboard and a few clearance things from Michael's. But I guess it's not too bad. I also got owl stickers for my computer because I'm a NEEEEEEEEEEEERD.

I saw there's new Minimates!! With Cap, Iron Man and Venom. I'll have to scour eBay for the singles. Because we obviously need more Minimates in our collection.

We stopped at the Mediterranean store today and got all sorts of goodies. The owner had just mixed up some spicy red pepper hummus she had us try. It's super, super tasty and a really good sort of spciy, so we bought a small container of it. Plus tabouli, spicy feta, grape leaves and tahini. <3<3<3

I should really be napping. I only got two hours of sleep in the last 24-ish hours and I really am dragging. But I'm trying to finish installing some things and transferring some stuff, so I don't want to lay down just yet.

Tomorrow we're trekking up Angie's way to get an aquarium and stopping a few other places. Also, textbooks.

Fufufufu.

I whipped together a little digital art book the other day to give Lulu a try.

I might do some more, they're kinda fun to put together!

In the last couple days we went and paid for TJ's registration up at KSUTC (thanks to my mother), we got some food, I set up my direct deposit stuff for my finanical aid, I got some shirts for work (gotta see if there's a pair of black pants somewhere here), picked up stuff for the critters (my goddamn animals eat better than I do), picked up a little bit of food and mostly loafed around.

I made chicken curry tonight. We'd bought some red curry paste awhile back (forever ago) and keep procrastinating on making it. But I had chicken breast today and some veggies, so I decided to whip it together. I really liked it, it has a nice flavor and just enough heat. Next time, however, we buy a bag of frozen veggies because I had a strang menagerie of vegetables in the fridge (bean pods, celery, zucchini, scallions, carrots)

I've been shopping around for a new computer. After my books, it's one of the first things I'm buying 'for school'. In reality, I've needed a new computer for a few years now and mine it finally reaching the point where I'm sick of it lagging for stupid reasons and not being able to work on hi-res stuff on it. It still runs just fine, there's nothing epically wrong with it. But I need a new computer like woah. The old computer will be assimilated into Possum (our storage comp) for extra space. Luckily, I've found some nice ones for under $400 (I'm looking to spend around $300-ish) with decent RAM and HDD space. But, really, ANYTHING is better than what I have now (512 SDRAM and 60GB of space) and I could finally get all my backup stuff OFF of TJ's computer, where it's currently taking up space. I don't need a new monitor, thankfully (I do love the one I have). Plus, I prefer CRT's because they show colors better. But, goddamn, I'd love a larger (though mine IS, like 15-17 inches) monitor, but they're all LCD.

I dunno, I'm feeling really good lately. I know I'm still pretty broke and starting a new job is always a bit of an aggravating experience. But I have a roof over my head and food in my fridge. I guess I can't complain too much. I've been spending a lot of time on Tumblr and browsing really inspiring photoblogs.

I also found a fabulous blog that reminds me so much of Poe and has some amazing pictures to boot: Curious Expeditions. I think my favorite entry over there is the picspam of gorgeous libraries from around the world.

I ran in to one of the ladies from work at Big Lots the other day. Got some juicy gossip. Apparently bitchy Deb FINALLY got moved out of Softlines and is now forced to work with the rest of the peons in Hardlines. MWHAHAHA. If I had known that was going to happen, I would've stuck around to witness it. Sweet justice.

Also, here's some art and commissions that've been finished up recently.

Kidnapped Angie Friday, thanks to Rob. TJ didn't trust her eyes driving through Ravenna after dark, so I called up Rob and asked if he'd run me out to pick up Angie.

Came back home and transferred files from Angie's old computer to TJ's and then spend three or four hours fighting to figure our which tower was going to work for me. Eventually, it was Angie's old tower and the video card seems to be nicer because CITY OF HEROES WORKS FOR ME.

I am shocked, as well.

I also now have two 20gig HDDs laying about that I can't put in this tower because the power source isn't large enough. But I have leftover RAM and the other tower, I wonder if there isn't a way to set up the second computer as a storage space. Because I could use 40gigs extra to use.

So I'll have to play around with it.

Saturday, we spent drinking a bit and playing COX. Lots of lazy and watching Stephen Lynch and Zoolander and general awesome all around. Took Angie home yesteday after playing through House of the Dead: Overkill. Which is AWESOME, by the way. And oh so very, very, very wrong on so many levels.

I got a notice about my benefits from Target the other day. Because my AVERAGED hours for the last TWELVE MONTHS were LESS THAN TWENTY HOURS, I'm not eligible for anything more than I've been getting for the last year.

Now, let's break this down.

I worked AT LEAST thirty hour weeks in Seattle. Sometimes a little less, but I averaged decent hours. I come HERE and I get BARELY twenty hours a week. I've never seen the number '30' on my schedule.

Because the hours are averaged, I get FUCKED because Niles gives shit hours and me awesome Seattle hours are hosed because of that. And I'm ineligible for the good benefits. Which is such bullshit I cannot even put it in to words.

And these two day/eight hour work weeks are PRETTY FUCKING STELLAR, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT.

Today I ran errands with my mom. She bought us some drinks and took me up to one of the churches that were giving away food so I could get a food basket.

Upon returning home, I feel like I've done something wrong? But I don't know. :/
obliviousally_lj: (Default)

The more I look at this thing, the more that's wrong with it. Ugh.

My computer's all fucked up.

See, I have three RAM slots. I have three RAM sticks. Two 256 and one 128. However, my computer's only reading 528 of those. None of the sticks are bad, I checked them all individually. I think one of the slots on the mobo is bad. Likely the middle one. I tried cleaning it out, but to no avail.

And now, even after the reformat and the extra RAM, City of Heroes won't run (and it would before, on 512 RAM) and I have to reinstall WoW and it may not even run.

I'm so pissed.

I can't run CS3 or CS4 because of the lack of RAM. CS2 runs like a dying horse. It lags SO BAD it's not even worth loading up.

Everything ran FINE before I popped the new stick in or I fucked up the RAM slot. Either way, there's not a whole lot I can do short of preform a miracle. And it's not like I can buy a larger RAM stick, I'm running SD RAM and it's EXPENSIVE because it's OUTDATED.

I really need a new mobo, however. The one in my computer currently? Dated 1999.

Ugh.

And TJ's mad because I can't play any games with her. :/

On the upside, I'll be getting Angie's old computer, which is a huge leap from the one I'm using now. I can swap shit around and I know the RAM slots on that mobo are clean because when I popped open the case for hers when we first got it, the inside was pratically spotless. So, at least that's something.
obliviousally_lj: (Default)

Sometimes I take pictures of myself without a jacket in the snow. Admittedly, it WAS 30F or so, which was quite balmy. No wind, either. Just sun, sun, sun. Which is a welcome change from the SNOW we've been getting since the beginning of the year. And I walk, like, a mile up to the grocery store and it gets really hot. So, no hoodie. I had it with my at first, yes, but it was quickly shed and shoved in my bag by the time I got to the tracks.

Reformatted, reinstalled XP, reinstalled CS4 and.....IT'S STILL FUCKING CRASHING WHAT THE HOLY FUCKING HELL FUCK YOU, ADOBE, DIE IN A FIRE.

In other news, I've been playing Lego Batman and it's immensely fun. :D
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
I've been re-reading A Softer World because I didn't realize until recently that you can mouse over the strips for extra text. And, well, I love A Softer World.

So, because of that, here's some strips that are likely related to the headpeople...

I count binary in my head... )

I got my socks from Sock Dreams today! The Green Knees are like my other pastel OTKs, but the O Brights actually GO OVER MY KNEES. See, I have fat calves, cause I'm a fatty, so it stretches the other ones and they come up to my knees. But the O Brights are soft and knitted and stretchy and go right where they're supposed to go. And they're warm and cozy, perfect for walking in the cold!

We're thinking about moving out to Kent until summer when Squeeji and Elliot figure out where they're gonna be at (please please please Pittsburgh, it's cheaper and closer!). Apparently, Al got a shut off notice for the GAS. Because, of course, we don't need GAS in the middle of WINTER. It's, like, $300-something. Fucking absurd. Don't want to ask us for help with the bills BEFORE they are overdue? Don't fucking expect me to jump and shell out money to pay it when YOU said WE didn't need to PAY bills while over here.

Fucking christ.

So Angie's gonna look around for places in Kent for us, since she knows the area a bit better. I can transfer to another Target and probably pick up something extra in Kent or Stow since there's....PUBLIC TRANSIT from, like, Kent all the way out to Akron and such.

Tenative ideas. I wish they would've popped up BEFORE my refund came so I could've set money aside for THAT instead of buying house things and stuff.

TJ bought a little Stitch pedometer from Fab Finds the other day and I've been wearing it while I walk, because it makes me feel accomplished to see how many steps I've taken on my walks.

Today, from the house to Giant Eagle (including shopping) and back home, I walked 5,790 steps. :D

I've spent the last three days uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop CS3/CS4. CS3 started crashing when I started it up, so I thought it might be corrupted. Uninstalled, deleted all traces, installed CS4, same issue. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with it, but I'm wondering if it's not something else lurking because I fired up mIRC only to discover all my server entries had been deleted. And that's certainly not something that should've happened.

So I'm quite pissed about it. I NEED Photoshop to work so I can work on commissions and artwork. And I can't, for the fucking life of me, figure out what the hell is wrong with it.

I'd be tempted to do a complete XP reinstall, but...ugh. That means backing things up and then resetting all my current settings and LAME. :/
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
Cute story.

We picked up WOTLK this evening, suprisingly.

Came home, popped it in the DVD drive and...nothing. The drive is up-to-date on everything and it'll read CDs, so it's not shot. But it absolutely REFUSES to read any DVDs. It'll work like it's trying to, but it doesn't. The PS2 has the same issue, but we have it modded so we can swap out game CDs for DVDs and watch them. I don't have that luxury with the computer, sadly. And the fact that there's a mysterous SECOND DVD/CD drive that's showing up is even more boggling.

I've popped open the case and unplugged the drive, uninstalled/reinstalled the drive, DELETED REGISTRY KEYS and IT KEEPS SHOWING UP no matter what I do and I STILL get no headway on the fucking issue.

I'm SO peeved it's not even funny.

And it's almost a laugh to even think about downloading the client from the website because it's, what, 10+ gigs?

GOD.

And the other DVD drive I have is over at the other apartment.

Just...lameness all around. Fuck.

EDIT: Discovered the mystery drive was a phantom drive. Fixed that and....still won't read DVDs. CDs, fine. DVD, no go. The general consensus is that the drive is probably shot.

AWESOME!

EDIT 2: Dropped the drive into my computer and still no go. Pretty sure it's dead. Lame, lame, lame. Especially because it was rarely used AND a Lightscribe that we never got to use for that actual purpose.

Ah, the days just keep getting better and better.
obliviousally_lj: (Default)

I want one. But I don't know which. D: I've been wanting the Hello Kitty one for MONTHS now. Seriously. The record one we just got in recently at Target, so I know it'll be there for a few more months.

But..but...I want a new tote. o_o

I need to wash my breakfast face one. I loves it so. <3

Payday seems so very far away. ;_;

Is there anyone who really watchers David Letterman for, uh, Letterman himself? I really can't stand him. I think he's old and completely unfunny. I'm only watching him tonight because David Duchovny is on. Leno wins like a million times over, and so does Conan. :V

slkjhgsklfdhgkldfhkldhgklaghfdlghklfdhgaklfd

GOOD GOD IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED

It makes my pants happy in many ways. :V :V :V :V

Man, this entry has been sitting in my LJ client for, like, two days now. I just haven't had anything to write about. I've been sleeping a lot. Wishing I had money and being generally lazy. It's been pretty bad. :/ I'm so so so sick of eating pork chops. Because it's the only meat we have in the house. It's sub-par pork chops, too. Like, really cheap ones. Ugh. And I'm pissed because I finished the milk off yesterday only to discover the mashed potatoes need milk. In my defense, I'd been buying the instant ones that you only have to use water with. But, still, I wanted taters. ;_;

So apathetic. D: I hates it.

TJ wrote SCAAAAARY Tony/Pepper crackfic. I cannot share it. But it made me go like this: 's;dkjhfklshdgklsdhklg' and flail my arms a lot.
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
I am going to scream.

I reformatted TJ's computer last night and reinstalled Windows on it. Prior to this, our network was working fine. Everything connected well, she could connect to the internet no problem. I didn't change anything during the Windows setup. At all.

While setting up Windows it told me it couldn't find a connection. This wasn't a big deal at the time, as I assumed it was because my computer didn't recognize her computer.

I ran the network setup wizard, as usual, but it STILL won't connect. The only thing it's showing in her connections is the 1394 adapter. Mine shows both the internet connection and the LAN connection. I tried connecting her computer straight to the modem. Still nothing. I tried resetting everything (unplugging the modem, router, shutting down the computers, etc., etc.), still nothing.

I can't install the Windows service packs (if that's the issue) on her computer because there's no internet connection. And I can't updated any drivers.

Any ideas anyone? This is really beginning to piss me off and it's likely something REALLY simple but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Like I said, everything worked perfect before I reformatted her computer. I can't imagine what could've gone wrong. D:
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
Spent last night reformatting and installing Windows XP. FINALLY. God. My computer finally runs like it's supposed to: decently. It's such a relief. I'm in the gradual process of reinstalling programs and moving things back where they belong. Good times.

Went over Rob's and hug out yesterday. I got to play Bioshock and Dead Rising, since Rob as acquired a 360. Both are crazy fun, even if I suck with the controls. :D Horrible Erinmonster remembered us, as did the other dogs. Yay! I stole Raving Rabbids and Super Mario Galaxy off of him, too.

Stopped at my mom's work on the way. She gave us dessert and we chatted for a bit until we decided to head home.

Today I found a soldering gun in the garage! And it works! Yay! Less work for cutting out eyes out of plastic for fursuits and costumes and stuff! That save a lot of time and energy.

Speaking of suits, I need to finish seam ripping this one handpaw and resew it. D: Lame.

Ink commission for someone on FA. I think it came out really, really cute.

Still taking 3x6 conbadges for $15. :D :D :D

I really just desperately need money because I'm STILL not working. I'm tempted to apply at the Giant Eagle or the Family Dollar in the Jamestown Plaza, because it's in walking distance. Ugh. We'll barely be able to make AC at this rate. :/ And it's really beginning to piss me off.

In a few days, we will be the proud owners of...

&

:D :D :D :D

I still want to get the tank top. If I acquire a few more badge commissions, I may spoil myself. But we'll see. Although, seeing as they've added new designs, I really want THIS ONE. :D And TJ now wants this and this.
obliviousally_lj: (Default)
Our phones are off.

You have NO IDEA how much this enrages me. Really. They've been off since Monday. Because I talked to my mom on Sunday, on the way back from Seattle. Monday? I'm getting the local Sprint bullshit saying that my phone is not in the network.

I have fucking JOBS that could be calling me. I can't check my voicemail. I can't send texts. I'm pretty much fucking screwed.

See, the thing here is that our phones are on Al's phone plan. Me, TJ and her mother's phone are on one bill. We can't get new ones, or even our own account, because there's still almost a year left on the contract. Which pretty much leaves us with relying on them to do all the phone stuff (as we don't have the money for it currently anyhow and that's why the situation is set up like this).

So we are fucked over by people who can't pay their fucking bill on time because they had to buy $600 kevlar-lined tires for TJ's car and now they're having 'money troubles'.

I am /very/ aggravated.

I need to reformat my fucking computer because it keeps fucking up and I'm sick of it. Unfortunately, I'm lacking an XP disc and, well, the patience for that at the moment. I'm also so fucking sick of SimpleMU crashing for stupid reasons and then refusing to load back up so I have to REBOOT MY FUCKING COMPUTER in order to use it again. And no, I don't want to use a different client. I already have BeipMU and MUSHclient and I hate fighting with them to get them to do what I want. And I loathe MUSHclient's start up/'you're not registered' window.

I should go back to bed and hope everything has fixed itself by the time I awaken.

Oh. And now, because my phone is fucking dead and I can't get any calls. I was almost late to my World Market interview only to discover that they moved it to TOMORROW AT 11AM. I'm actually not /that/ angry about this. But if I can bitch about something else and blame it on the lack of a phone, I'll fucking do it.

FUCK. I left my art stuff at work.

I was SO FUCKING TIRED yesterday. Oh my god. I was running my ass off because we had TWO TRUCKS and they didn't finish unloading them until 2AM. Which means that, when I came in at 7AM, there was AN ASSLOAD of freight to put out to the floor. x_x

I noticed I'm losing weight. Well, not really, but I'm building muscle on my midsection. My pudge isn't as pudgy. And I don't have to suck it in as far anymore! XD Not that I did much in the first place. But I'm happy.

I tried on a short skirt at Goodwill yesterday. It was black and pleated and I didn't look bad in it, but I'd probably wear one like Angie does, with leggings and boots. Or really cute tights. Seriously, though, I NEVER wear short skirts. And I hardly ever wear long ones. But I did find a pretty long black one, which is YAY, cause I've been hunting forever.

I bought undies at Rue 21. $0.99 undies, even. However, if they say they're size six, they better fucking be a size six. They BARELY fit me. I don't know if this is intentional and they're supposed to be low rise or what, but geezus. But they're cute, regardless.

I scored the Legend of Zelda Wii carrying bad for $15. YAY. Now I don't have to worry about what the fuck to carry they damn thing in without damaging it. D:

I also reserved Pokemon Pearl at Target. Yes, I know it comes out on Sunday. But I won't be picking mine up until next pay. But I really wanted that stylus. I also realized we need to get another DS. D:

I'm still a little peeved about the credit thing. I'm pretty sure it's because fucking Chase Bank is still after me for that $200 from last year. I should look into maybe getting a credit card through my bank, perhaps it'd be a bit easier. And, don't worry, me having a credit card isn't as bad as it would seem. I just need something for the week between paychecks, is all. For food and gas. Yes, I probably would invest in a new computer, but that's because I NEED one for my art. I know this one is on a slow spiral downwards and I'd rather get a new one now before the whole thing crashes and I loose all my data and shit.

I've been up since 10AM. I hung TJ's hummingbird feeder outside and fed the rats and the fish. It's already 63F out. :D Yay!

We're supposed to run into Warren today, which will likely happen when TJ gets up.

If I would have been approved for the credit card at Best Buy, I would have a new computer right now. Yes, it's a bit impulsive, but it's nothing I couldn't have paid off within 90 days. The one I wanted was only $500. I'm unable to save up the money for one, because I end up buying other things. I just wish I could make regular payments on one. And not one of those shitty Rent-a-Center computers. D:

I really need a new computer. It's hard to do full CGs anymore, it's hard to work on anything because things take SO DAMN LONG TO LOAD.

But, whatever.

I'm tired and slightly cranky. Today was a REALLY LONG DAY.
