I got a new phone! It's a Palm Pixi Plus and it's pretty nice.

We weren't really planning on getting smartphones and, originally, were looking at this phone, but it just wasn't selling us. We needed new phones because TJ's was shutting off randomly and we still weren't getting any calls ringing in (we'd get voicemail and texts, but the phone would never ring in). I just wanted a new phone because, well, new phone.

After TJ wandered around and drooled over the Droids, he spotted the Pixi which was completely free, probably because they were getting ready to go out of the store (some of the accessories for it were on clearance, too). So we fooled with it and ended up both getting one.

I...kinda love having a smartphone. Like, I thought I wouldn't do much with it, but then I found free apps and just dflkgldf everything is so nice.

I'm going to get it surgically grafted to my hand, I think.

So, we went into town yesterday (which is how we got new phones) to get things started for TJ's name change (Anthony Edward Stark, natch). Doing the things we intended to go in for (getting paperwork started for the name change, stopping at the house on Blair to grab something) went by quickly. But then we had to deal with Al who wanted to tell us all his woes which I do not give a fuck about.

But we got new phones, so that's an upside.

We also stopped at the comic store and got the story on Tikicon. To which I say: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Classes are over for the summer. I'm thinking I did decent, but not great. As long as I averaged C's, I'll be alright. It was just hard to concentrate on both classes. My Planet Earth teacher was too soft spoken to concentrate on and my other class was online, so: dreadfully boring.

I need to be IN a classroom, physically taking notes. Not typing them on my laptop, but writing them down in a notebook. I retain the information a lot better that way and I actually pay attention.

I have to make an advisor appointment next week because I can't seem to register for two classes I want to take next semester. Laaame. I'm only taking three (nine credit hours) because I don't want to overload myself and I want to get back more financial aid (which is going to be a sad amount to begin with). I'm going to re-take College Writing I and either Art History or Visual Design for Media (which is like the Intro to Visual Design class I need to declare a major for).

I'm still really upset that almost all the photography and graphic/digital design professors are Mac nazis because, like said before, not buying a Mac. I may end up just doing Fine Arts and stuff like Drawing and 2D Composition. At least then I don't need a $1800 computer.

I'm so squinty-eyed and my face is less than stellar. But there's sorta my new haircut.

So here's a cute Koffing rat and some more bullshit after the cut...

Work today was a waste. A whole three and a half hours because we had a tiny truck. YESTERDAY they were there until, like, 11AM because there was a HUGE truck with a bunch of Easter pallets. Go to hell, Target. Ugh.

Today, we picked up cleaning supplies so I can do some desperately needed spring cleaning. Hurrah! Hopefully I can get to the garage, too. Because it's NASTY in some places.

Ah, Warren. This was taken outside of the Greyhound station downtown.

At [livejournal.com profile] inaki and [livejournal.com profile] aulderbane's we found this on the walk to the 7-11.

And here's a bunch of rattie pics. Beware dialup.

Aiee! Disease! )

So, I totally saw a body in the river today. I was heading home from mailing out stuff and picking up some foods and there were two police cars over by the bridge downtown and two women looking over the bridge. They were looking for something in the river, but they didn't find it. I figured a kid fell over or something, so I hung out for a moment. After they drove off, I figured nothing special was happening and started heading home down E. Market. And then there's more cop cars in a parking lot as well as an ambulance and a fire truck coming down the rode. I want to stick around and check things out, but I don't want to be in the way. I figured they were down near the river (there's a steep hill on the side of the river I was on at the moment, can't see much). So I went back around to the park trail to see what was up. I also figured that, if I kid or something fell in (I hate kids, but I'm not completely heartless and I'd totally be a hero. I'm such an attention whore.) I could move faster than the police since I was on a bike. I scoped things out from across the river and I heard two of the guys saying they found a body a little ways up. So, I headed up that way and, lo and behold, there was a body in the river. One of the cops had a stick holding its shirt, so I'm assuming that it was probably in the river awhile and really wasn't worth pulling out. More people started showing up where I was, since the authorities came to the other side of the river so they could take the boat across to get the body (as a result of the previously mentioned steep hill). And then they told us to head back up to the trail for 'privacy'. I figure, unless the family's there (which it more than likely isn't), what's the point of giving a dead body privacy? But we moved up and hung out to see if we could find out anything else (they couldn't tell us anything, of course) but they eventually told us to move back more and we all decided to head out. I went to the comic store to fill them in. The first question I get asked when I walk in?

"Who'd you push in the river?"

XD

The was about the highlight of my day. Other than that, picked up stuff for TJ's new mask and stuff. Gotta go look at apartments Tuesday and take the giunea pig to it's new owner. Going up to Kent for gaming tomorrow. Maybe going to the Pittsburgh zoo Sunday. Lots of stuff going on.

We miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be going to Anthrocon next weekend and visiting [livejournal.com profile] aulderbane and [livejournal.com profile] inaki as well. HOPEFULLY. :D:D:D:D:D
