I got a new phone! It's a Palm Pixi Plus and it's pretty nice.

We weren't really planning on getting smartphones and, originally, were looking at this phone, but it just wasn't selling us. We needed new phones because TJ's was shutting off randomly and we still weren't getting any calls ringing in (we'd get voicemail and texts, but the phone would never ring in). I just wanted a new phone because, well, new phone.

After TJ wandered around and drooled over the Droids, he spotted the Pixi which was completely free, probably because they were getting ready to go out of the store (some of the accessories for it were on clearance, too). So we fooled with it and ended up both getting one.

I...kinda love having a smartphone. Like, I thought I wouldn't do much with it, but then I found free apps and just dflkgldf everything is so nice.

I'm going to get it surgically grafted to my hand, I think.

So, we went into town yesterday (which is how we got new phones) to get things started for TJ's name change (Anthony Edward Stark, natch). Doing the things we intended to go in for (getting paperwork started for the name change, stopping at the house on Blair to grab something) went by quickly. But then we had to deal with Al who wanted to tell us all his woes which I do not give a fuck about.

But we got new phones, so that's an upside.

We also stopped at the comic store and got the story on Tikicon. To which I say: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Classes are over for the summer. I'm thinking I did decent, but not great. As long as I averaged C's, I'll be alright. It was just hard to concentrate on both classes. My Planet Earth teacher was too soft spoken to concentrate on and my other class was online, so: dreadfully boring.

I need to be IN a classroom, physically taking notes. Not typing them on my laptop, but writing them down in a notebook. I retain the information a lot better that way and I actually pay attention.

I have to make an advisor appointment next week because I can't seem to register for two classes I want to take next semester. Laaame. I'm only taking three (nine credit hours) because I don't want to overload myself and I want to get back more financial aid (which is going to be a sad amount to begin with). I'm going to re-take College Writing I and either Art History or Visual Design for Media (which is like the Intro to Visual Design class I need to declare a major for).

I'm still really upset that almost all the photography and graphic/digital design professors are Mac nazis because, like said before, not buying a Mac. I may end up just doing Fine Arts and stuff like Drawing and 2D Composition. At least then I don't need a $1800 computer.

Careful with your credit hours. A lot of financial aid specifies "full time" or at least 12 credit hours per semester. So checking with your advisor and/or financial aid office would be a good idea.

Full time is 9 hours and over. Part time is 6-8 hours. I can't take over 12 hours because I'm on probation.
