Don't tell me I don't have no secrets...
Jul. 2nd, 2009 03:36 pmYesterday was... Well, I'm dubbing it an 'atrocity parade'.
Things started out fine, cleaned cages and waited around for Squeeji and Elliott to get here. They arrived around noon-ish and we went about getting their stuff inside and chatting. We headed out around 1PM to Kent. Stopped at Fabulous Finds because I needed a new pair of jeans. Stopped at the co-op in Kent for delicious raisins and banana chips.
Retrieved Angie and headed back home through Ravenna with intent to go to IHOP for some foods and then come home.
Except things didn't go that way.
On 59, heading through Ravenna, where it veers off to Akron on 5 we're driving along and suddenly, TJ goes 'oh shit, someone just ran over a kitten'. I saw what happened, most of us in the car did. The kitten didn't get hit. It wasn't running across a busy street where there are no houses nearby. It was thrown from the car in front of us. There was no way to stop and no way to even get to the kittens before something would have happened to them. If they weren't fatally injured upon impact.
Yeah, I know. Thrown from the car. Some sick fuck was throwing kittens out of their car on a busy street where it's difficult to stop because of merging traffic from another route and it's in the middle of nowhere.
They threw two, Angie called 911 and we followed the car for awhile. I was hoping for an address or something because I was absolutely livid. But they seemed to catch on that we were following and eventually we headed back to the main road.
It was really THE most horrible thing I've ever witnessed. I still really haven't processed it. My mind is thinking it was a bad hallucination or something, I don't know. The general question that comes up is 'did someone really do that?'.
On the way home we say someone had flown across three lanes of traffic and into a tree in front of someone's house. We didn't witness it, but we saw it was we went past.
After that horrific situation, we went to IHOP (yes, that's a strange transition, but the drive home is almost 45 minutes, we had a lot of time to wind back down from that). Waited almost an hour for our food, our drinks got mixed up and we were sat near old people on all sides. So it was the five of us laughing and being tards and old people staring at us in horror.
Then we came home and me and Angie went up to the laundromat to do clothes. Came home, loafed around. I eventually took a nap after being away for over 24 hours. Woke up three hours later, sat around, watched Watchmen with Angie. Eventually everyone had fallen asleep and I took a bath and laid down in bed and read for awhile.
Today, we walked up to Giant Eagle and now I think I'm going to go downstairs with the rest of the group and work on art stuff and badges.
Good god, the con's tomorrow. D: D:
