How I feel about Civil War.

Ugh. That was a waste of my time. I mean, there were some cool parts but Tony was such a complete asshole and I really felt he was totally out of character in most scenes. It's sad, because now I can see why everyone seems to hate him since Civil War.

And, yeah, I know the whole Civil War thing branches out into the other comics of the heroes involved. But, for fuck's sake, that's A LOT to stuff into SEVEN ISSUES.

I was also highly disappointed with the EXTREME OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS with NO ONE on the middle ground. Really? Seriously. All these superheroes of different backgrounds and upbringings just choosing either black or white (aside from the ones that simply didn't involve themselves at all, of course)? That doesn't fly with me.

I really think Civil War could've been a lot better if, oh, I don't know, Marvel wasn't a bunch of douchebags.

I thought that Civil War was interesting in basic concept, but was horribly executed. There was a lot of bad writing. The ending was just stupid.

Secret Invasion was also interesting in basic concept. Some parts were executed okay (I loved the Thunderbolts part), but generally it just seemed to serve for Marvel to go about ripping apart their continuity and retconning anything they didn't like. Some character did something strange twenty years ago? IT WAS A SKRULL!

SKRULLS ARE MY NEW SCAPEGOAT FOR EVERYTHING.

Trouble at work? Everyone's a Skrull.
Shitty day? Blame a Skrull.

He's so very sad.

I wish I knew who did it. D: I nicked it from 4chan at some point.

The fact that they didn't make Tony a Skrull actually kept me from completely losing faith in Marvel. Having said that, Civil War was executed terribly, was unnecessarily depressing, and was an overall horrible experience for me because it was the very first thing I read while getting back into comic books.
The Civil War Mini-Marvels was fucking amazing, though. Icon very related.

I think I could've given it more leeway if it was better executed. There was A LOT of good conflict and character development that could've been done there. Butr did they? No, of course not. Bite my ass, Marvel.

Also, holy lord, I just read the Min-Marvels and that was so much better than Civil War. My god.
