So I go downstairs to check for something in the car and I'm greeted with a letter from TJ's mom.

Inside is says that the bills Al was complaining about are for HIS place, not this one. Great, fine, I DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT. He doesn't detail these things to me so I assume that when he says 'we have to talk about the bills' it means 'we have to talk about the bills for the house you guys are living in'. Not 'we have to talk about the bills for my place thay I've been a retard about paying'.

It also states that, since we, apparently, can't help out with the bills (which I NEVER said we wouldn't, I simply said I didn't have ENOUGH MONEY TO right now) we have to pay the car insurance (since TJ's mom's car is out of commission). It's only $60/month. I don't see how this is a big deal.

And we OFFERED TO HELP PAY THAT, TOO. Like, a month ago. We've offered to help out with the bills and the offer has been declined each time.

Plus, I'm not paying on bills I don't see. You want me to pay on the electric and gas and water here? Show me the fucking bill. I can't fucking have people coming up to me after I'd spent my money on payday and going 'yeah, this bill needs paid' when I don't get a heads up on it. You tell me when the bill shows up, I'll make sure to set some money aside for it.

IT'S NOT FUCKING ROCKET SCIENCE.

I'm not terribly concerned. It's just laughable.

That's a pretty reasonable expectation. If the bills are of your concern, then it should be handled that way.

Exactly. I'm not going to pay something by hearsay. And I'm likely not going to pay anything until I see the bill myself.

At this point I'd go as far to accompany them to the office or watch them write out the check for said bills so I know where my money is going.

I'm sure someone's going to get their panties in a twist when I demand reciepts for things.

Well, if they were the ones contributing to bills in someone else's name, then they would want to be sure, too. My only advice there is if you're writing a check, make sure you make it out to Energy Company XYZ instead of to the person paying the bill, if possible. However, that might get complicated since the bill isn't in your name. AGH NEVERMIND.

And I understand how that is, I've been there (hell, I AM there!). But I don't go disregarding what people have offered. I go 'hey, remember when you said you could help? if you still can, that'd be awesome. if not, no big.'.

Ours are stupid. Hank, the independent one, goes where she wants and does what she wants. Dean, the crybaby, is absolutely distraught when she can't find Hank and proceeds to make an obnoxious annoyance of herself by walking around the house meowing and jumping onto my lap to lay down for five seconds or to 'sneakily' climb up onto my keyboard.
