I walked up to the Jamestown Plaza to acquire a belt for the sweeper, as the previous one had broken. I checked the dollar stores first, to no avail. And, after walking across the street to check the Family Dollar, it began DOWNPOURING. Thankfully, TJ had mentioned it might rain, so I grabbed my umbrella before I left. but I still ended up with my butt to my feet being soaked in the back. Ah well. I did find a belt at Giant Eagle, but I should've gotten sweeper bags, too. As the one in the sweeper is full. :/ So I can't actually do any of the cleaning I WANTED to do until I get one. But, at least, I can get the clothes organized (cause they need washed) and...attempt to get the kitchen clean.

Dishes are the bane of my existence. I can keep everyone elses' kitchen clean. Wash my dishes when I'm done, was my pots and pans when I'm done. But in my own kitchen? The one I should care about? Nope. I let dirty dishes sit in the sink for weeks. I'll get the motivation to clean and I'll put everything in clean, hot water to soak and I'll just...never get around to it. It's really awful. I know I should be better about it, but I can't bring myself to be. Maybe I need to hide all but one piece of everything for both me and TJ and then, when we don't have anything to use, I HAVE to clean them. And then there's only a handful of things to clean instead of eight handfuls of crap in the sink. Staring at me.

I can generally keep my cookware pretty clean, as I use it regurarly. I guess this is good?

I've been trying to learn the S2 style system because I want to start making layouts again. I've been inspired by some designers here on LJ that I've snagged layouts from (the one I'm using currently, included). I miss making layouts that are ALL MY OWN. And most of LJ's default ones just aren't doing it for me anymore because I want a lot more customization.

But it's all CSS and stuff, so it's very out of my comfort zone. I can whip up a cool layout in HTML, but in CSS? Good god. So I'm just throwing myself into it and starting out by editing the default LJ codes. So far, it's not too bad, but there's some things that are aggravating me about how the CSS works. But, there's a lot of rescources out there for me to use so I should be able to figure it out.

Either way, it's something new and, hopefully, I'll conquer it!

gahh, i am the same way about the S2 styles. i can't do CSS-- just the simple style sheets to change links and things. D: and that i don't even know by heart~ i copy/paste it from HTML tutorials. :P
i had chris help me with my layout (geez, i've had this same layout since MAY 2007, but i love it so much!) because i had NO. IDEA. what to change for which thing. i was so lost.

i HAET how uncustomizable the s2 layouts are.

if you want to learn CSS, just head to w3schools.com and click the "Learn CSS" link at the top of the menu bar to the left! They keep it pretty simple for the tutorial, and there's all kinds of reference there if you want to get into fancier stuff, later!
