Weaboo rambling ahead!
Good lord, bento stuff is SO CUTE.
So, when we went over to Seattle on Saturday, our main stop was Daiso in Westlake Mall. It's, essentially, an asian 'dollar' store. Everything is at least $1.50. Some things are a little more. We were looking for bento stuff specifically. But the whole place was pretty awesome.
I got both me and TJ a bento box. Hers has little fishies on it, and mine is a nice blue color and has a pretty design on the top and some dragonflies (I only paid $1.50 for mine!). I also bought really cute onigiri molds: a star, a heart, and TJ found a cute wooden one that's similar to the sakura blossom one I got. Just not as thick. I got little 'cookie' cutters in the shapes of a puppy, a bunny, and a bear. Some cute little fish condiment containers. Some furikake/seasoning containers...
I also bought some cute elastic holders, to keep the bento boxes together well. Mine has a REALLY CUTE carrot on it, and TJ's are fishies, to match her box.
Things I WANT to get, however: Octopus Wiener Shaper, Crab Wiener Shaper, Easy Boiled-Egg Shaper -- Heart & Star Shapes, Onigiri /Rice Ball Maker ~ Triangle
I made a bento for TJ last night, to play around with it and I wanted to make some sushi rice anyhow. Seemed like a good excuse to test out my new tools. I should've taken pictures, but it came out REALLY cute. I was pretty proud. X3
The only downside is our boxes aren't microwaveable. :/ Krpsiy made sure to mention that to me when she saw the box I got for TJ. She got one for Ash and it literally cracked when it was microwaved.
Also, they brought MILK POCKY back out. I was esctatic. :3 :3
