Stuff and IT WAS A GOOD NIGHT AFTER ALL.
Nov. 22nd, 2007 06:09 amSo, after griping before work, things went well.
I worked most of the night with Kristy, who is coolbeans. We had a potluck with lots and lots of food, so I didn't feel bad for eating when I brought nothing. Kathy (who mostly works in seasonal) made DELICIOUS pumpkin pies and I asked if I could steal a slice or two to take home. She said yes and I squee'd. So, despite not really doing to whole Thanksgiving thing this year, we have to one tasty thing I love. So it's all good.
I also GOT PAID. This was really the highlight of the evening (aside from Kristy calling 'My Lumps' by Fergie the 'dickgirl song'). $190 after taxes, and for about a week's worth of work. Not too bad. Plus, I got overtime tonight, because it's a holiday. So that's...about $12? I think. I may be doing my math wrong.
I'm yelling at myself not to blow all my money. I'm lucky nothing's likely open tomorrow...er, today. So that's good. There's some stuff I need to buy (toiletries, rattie stuff) and some things I'd like to buy (a cheap desk/chair, art stuff, a scanner, etc.).
I really need to manage my money. Once I get direct deposit going (which will be for the next paycheck), I'm going to start transferring bits into my savings account for the move back to Ohio. But I still want to be able to enjoy myself while I'm out here. I also need to ask Bob what he wants me to contribute to, apartment-wise. I know electric and water, but I don't know about rent? I'll have to ask when he returns home from Portland.
I'd really, REALLY like to do FC. I doubt it will happen, I don't have the money for a hotel room. And I'm very picky about roommates now. But...still. We're finally on the west coast, it'd be sad if we couldn't make it. But a month and a half is a really short time to try and scrounge the money up when it should be going towards Ohio.
We'll have to see, I suppose.
