I uploaded a few things to VCL last night, cause I do an art dump every couple months there. And I got this e-mail today:

While checking recent VCL uploads, I needed to take action on recent uploads you've made. Apologies for the form letter appearance; it's the only way we can handle the number of letters we send out. If you respond, you WILL get a more-personal response from us. Please include the file name and comment below, so we know which file you're talking about, and what action we took.

AR-poe10-s.png: File moved to Sketches directory.
Background is tinted and/or noisy; please use Levels tool to push background to a clean white.

I thought of joining VCL... but that just made up my mind... your post is telling me to avoid it. I can't believe they just move your stuff around and critique the hell out of it.

If you put a 5 pixel wide white line around the outside edge, it usually defeats the "noisy background" scan.
