So, uh, yesterday was INTERESTING, to say the least.
I called off work cause of cramps. And just generally feeling like shit.
TJ and Angie decided they were going to go out to Pat Catan's, so I followed along.
We rescued a turtle from the middle of the road on the way there. It hissed at TJ.
I spent $25 on art stuff, mostly some new Prismacolor markers, a pack of Microns and some of those nice little click erasers with the really thin eraser. YEY.
We stopped at Chipotle and Angie gushed over EMO BOYS. EWWWW. :3
We came home, got ready to go out to Bounce and then left. Early.
Then we got lost getting off on a different exit (there HAS to be an easier and quicker way to get there than going all the way down to W. 117th, going to Detroit and then backtracking a good 5-10 minutes.) and then we...hit something. Or hit a pothole (which we think it was, cause Angie said she felt the car drop then go back up and she remembers seeing water splash up. It was dark, it had rained all night and during the day.). The front right tire BLEW. We were like 'O. M. G., what do we do?'. Unfortunately, Dave doesn't have his phone, so we couldn't call him. We figured getting to a gas station would be the best option. So we, luckily, found one close by, so we didn't have to ride on the rim.
The guy in the gas station doesn't have a jack. Or a tire wrench. Lovely. We go to the BP across the street, they're locked up for the night (meaning they only take payments through the window, this IS Cleveland, after all). We go back over to the Sunoco and discover that there's a tire/lube shop attatched to it. We figure it's independently/privately owned and try not to complain about the irony. We ask the guy inside for a phone book, saying we're going to call a tow place to change the tires, since Angie's insurance will reimburse it. He said he'll switch the tires out (well, we had a donut, better than nothing) for $20. O...kay, that works, too.
Of course, then we're left waiting for a good hour or so because Angie's car has special bolts on the tires. They're, like, racing rims or something. So they had to find the right size for them.
We gave
spiralpegasus a call when we figured they wouldn't be able to fix it. At least he'd be closer than anyone at home and Dougie would definately have car-fixy stuff. XD
Of course, Dougie shows up RIGHT AFTER they dropped the car off the jack. Go figure. But it was good to have a backup plan, I've learned that over my years.
So, we chatted for a minute and then we headed home. Figured it'd be better to drive home and get home on the donut than make it to Bounce and only spend two hours there. And THEN drive home. :P
ANYHOW. I've gotta work today. I should try to weasle birthday things out of the people at work. :D:D:D
