i kinda miss having hamsters/gerbils. (my mother is grossed out by the naked tails, so i never got mice or even rats~ she didn't like the gerbils but tolerated hamsters~~ even though she thinks the cute little rodent faces are creepy!) i had a hamster named zippity when i was eight... my uncle's black lab thought he'd make a tasty snack. she practically ate half of him. :(

although i'm too nervous about holding rodents anymore~ i got bit too much. my last two hamsters were mean little snots. i'm always ALWAYS afraid i'll be bit now.

i wanna rattie, though. if i could get over my fear of being bitten and didn't want so many cats, i would so get one when i got my own place. my sister wants a brown rat someday named boromir the valiant, cause it's an awesome name lollors.

I started out with the gerbils (had 40 of 'em at one time! That'll teach me to breed JUST ONE PAIR! Though, most were rescues.).

The rats rarely, if ever bite. Only if you don't know how to poke your fingers into the cage properly (I'm the only one they don't bite when I do that, actually). They'll nibble sometimes, especially if you have just eaten something tasty. And hamsters are mean by default. The best hamster in the world ever passed on last week. You could poke at him to wake him up and he wouldn't try to bite you. Just hiss a bit and then try to go back to sleep. :P

Actally, in the house right now, we have four cats. The three older ones don't bother with 'em. there's even a wire cage in the middle of the living room they don't go near. I think it's because the three in it (including a rat that's almost as big as the cats!) will swipe and defend their territory. The little cat, Min Pook, will investigate them, and will try to play with them. But the rats are pretty uninterested. XD

They are! Of course, the only two hamsters I ever owned, the one mentioned above and another named 'Lumpy' (who had a tumor) were the sweetest hamsters I've ever met.

My hamsters where friendly :3 your rodents iz cute. c.c Btw.. if you come to Cleveland o_O Pick up the two clean hamster cages I have. Even if you can't use 'em.. I'm sure you know someone who could. They look sweet. my hamsters where so cute and sweet c.c Gaz you could friggen pick up in a dead sleep and Howdy was easily lured out of his cage from sleep. XD *Hugs*
