Stuff and DARK X-MAS!
Nov. 12th, 2004 04:38 pmOkay, okay, okay. I just got home. I've been out running since, uh...11AM. Wow. I feel alive and rushed and giddy all at once. I think it's the fall weather. Woot.
I went out to the mall with TJ and picked up pet food. And I caught the first bus back into town. Stopped and got something to drink and then stopped at the comic store sinc my backpack was, like, 15 pounds. 10 pounds of pet food + my notebook and art supplies. My back was killing me. Babbles with the comic store guys then hopped over to the little store next store that was just put in. Nice little trinket/wiccan type store. Talked with the girl working there (who's a self-proclaimed Barbie Girl - idolized Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, wants a tiny, yappy dog, etc...) for, like, a long time. About a bunch of stuff. And I was suprised that she was so open and real and not all superficial like most chicks like that. It was pretty nice.
But the big thing this weekend is... DARK X-MAS (info here, here. They really need a better wabpage layout. :P). Okay, okay, it's a lame name, but it's this little sci-fi/horror convention going on at the hotel downtown. Me and TJ have been planning to go to it for the last few months, but I didn't know it was THIS WEEKEND until I walked past the hotel. So I go in and see if they need any volunteer help, since I've done that and I enjoy it. Plus, I'm convention staff at Colossal Con, anyhow. I know what I'm doing. They said that they probably will, or they can find something for me to do. So I figure I'll get discount admission or free admission or something. Which would rock.
I also saw J. O'Barr. He was sitting outside the hotel smoking a cigarette. And I walked past, recognized him, backpedaled and completely froze up and complimented him on his jacket (it was leather, I think, with 'The Crow' in red on the front). I was going to ask if he was J. O'Barr and tell him is was an honor meeting him, but after I commented on his jacket, he just said 'thanks'. And he sounded really tired or like he didn't want to be bothered, so I went on my way. I didn't want to devolve into babbling fangirl and tell him all the crap he hears a thousand times over from fans.
Finally got home and fed all the animals. They are happy. I need to go BACK down to the comic store and get my art crap, cause I didn't want to carry 15 pounds all the way home. So I trust Doug enough to not let anyone bother my crap. I might go over and visit Wolf, too, if he's not too busy at the radio station.
I feel good today. I really needed to get out and stuff. And the weather isn't hurting, either. I've been sociable and stuff and I'm in a pretty good mood. I just hope TJ's in a good/decent mood anyhow for having to work and all. Aaugh. >_o
