Today was good! Yaaaay for good!
May. 12th, 2004 06:55 pmToday rocked.
We left the house around 11AM to go out to the mall (originally with the intentions of paying the cell phone bill, that never happened...). Swung into Suncoast and chatted with Rob. Walked around the mall. I bought a cute jersey top at Deb and some cool neon sparkly bracelets. After that, we decided to go out to the Southern Park mall, cause TJ wanted to go to the Disney store (ours closed...). On the way out there, we stopped at Brusters for ice cream. Now, Brusters is to ice cream what Jelly Bellys are to jelly beans. That good. I had a chocolate peanut butter swirl/chip cone. And TJ had cherry chesecake ice cream. Yumyum. At the Southern Park mall, I bought TJ a Stitch beach towel. It came with a beach ball. Extra cute. And then I proceeded to make a beeline for the DDR machine. Luckily, there were no kids, as it was around 2PM. And even though the sun was glaring a little off the screen, that did not discourage me. I still sucked. Woot! Anyhow, in the middle of our second game, another kids comes up, extremely happy to see that someone else actually plays on the machine. We chatted a little, asked how long we'd been playing and all. He complimented TJ on her collar and said that he'd just bought his mate one. 'Buh? Mate?', my head says. And automatically thinks furry or therian or something along those lines. Or, it's just a cute word he uses for his significant other. So we all switch back and forth between the DDR machine and chatting. Turns out that we were right, and he is furry. Not only that, he's a cool furry. We talked a bout *gasp* things other than furry fandom! Of course, other things was movies and comics and the Matrix, but still! We made a new friend! And it's nice to see someone who's not all uppity and 'furry is life!' about the fandom. I also had a strawberry-peach smoothie. It was tasty. Then we hit the perstores and looked at the animals. Petland had a giant cockatoo (I think) who was out of his cage and he kept going back and forth between me and TJ to be preened. He actually hopped over to me for the sole purpose of getting me to preen him. So cute. Also stopped at Joann Fabrics to look around. I got some smaller sized poster board to maybe do some art to sell on. From there we went to Giant Eagle cause I demanded SUSHI. We also got some, y'know, actual food. If you can count pizza and TV dinners and Cheez-its actual food. :D
All in all, Ice Cream + DDR (New Friend) + Sushi = Good Day.
Now, we're sitting at home and loafing. It's hot outside and even though I've changed into something cooler, I'm still roasting. Blargh. x_x
