So. I've been working the last two days. Two 12 hour days. Stacking plastic flowerpots. This, in itself is mindlessly easy, however, standing on ones feet for about 12 hours makes one feel like they have gelatin for their legs. This is how I feel. My back hurts, too. But not as bad as it did yesterday, when I was both unprepared for a 12 hour workday AND broke. Which meant no food. Which sucked. So I felt like both passing out AND vomiting. Possibly in unison. What fun. But I survived. And today was better as I had both money and food and aspirin. Which makes the pain not hurty. Hurrah. Plus, the press they put me on today was alot better paced than the one I was on yesterday. Basically meaning, I didn't have to rushrushrush to get things done when I was eternally backed up. So yeah, work. And for $8/hr, it beats retail any day. Mostly cause I don't have to deal with customers and I'm left to my own devices. Plus, everything is drowned out by the noise of the machinery. Woo.

My mom screwed me over today. She wais she left her money with my grandma (cause she went to work with me yesterday, as well as today) and asked if I could loan her $20 because she was going over a friends' place for a bit. I was under the impression she had no cash whatsoever. Turns out she only left me grandma $25. She still had, at least, $60 on her. Which means she's giving me $30 tomorrow, cause I have her work ticket and she can't get paid without it. Hmph.

In good news, apparently the place I'm working at (Dillen's) wants to keep me and my mom on (since we know what we're doing), which is good in the first place. But they also want to hire us in, apparently. Sure, this takes 90 days (of going out of Labor Ready, which equals money roughly every day), but once you're hired in pay goes up to $8.50/hr and you get full benefits. Now, of course, this whole 12 hours thing is the only downfall of the situation. But then, you only work 2 or 3 days a week. And you get every other weekend off. This equals teh r0xx0rz. Why? Because it means 3 months of constant incoming cash, plus decent amounts of days off (usually 2 or 3 at a time). This equals bills being paid ahead of time, food, plus extra money. Which takes ALOT of stress off of both me and TJ.

And, in better news, apparently the summer job program is going to give us (or TJ, as I'll probably be staying at Dillen's) our pick of jobs. This means....summer job! This is also cool beacuse, if everything goes as planned (Gaia willing...), it will give TJ a month (May) of downtime to herself. Where she doesn't have to stress about bills of food or any of that nonsense since I'll be working. And then, in June, work. And the summer job's are normally a breeze. Which means a less work-stressed TJ. Which equals good.

So, all in all, despite the fact that it snowed today, things are looking up. And up is good.

In other news, I'm sore and tired. I need to soak in the tub. Eventually. We have to get up in the morning to go down and get my check. And, either tomorrow or Thursday, we're going to go to the zoo. Cause, well, it's the zoo. Why not?

I have picture ideas floating around. And, now that I feel productive, hopefully I can get some comission stuff done. Woot. But, for now, this post has gone on long enough. So I ninja-vanish! Woosh!

Aww, damn. My extra userpics are about to expire. And my paid account goes up on the 1st. Sad. Ah well, maybe I can manage to squirrel away a little to toss into Paypal for friviolous internet expenses...

Also, [livejournal.com profile] bzarcher, did you realize that you (more than likely accidentally) called us at, like, 1AM? :D Your number came across and I was all like 'WTH?' and answered it, but there was no one on the other end. Creepy.

Eeep. Sorry. I probably bumped the phone against the crutches.
