I don't put guidelines on what people can and cannot draw. I cannot physically stop them from drawing furries, only attempt to persuade them. Furry art may not ALL be anime, but it's far, far too limited in scope. The "anthro" Daily Favorite right now with the demon-woman is an example of good furry art. Why? Because it has something other than a solo furry doing some random activity, or multiple furries doing some random activity. Most other furry art looks ALL THE SAME. Your comic is an example of a style that has been copied over and over again for "furries". There's a million others out there like it. Check out the Recently Submitted section and I guarantee you'll find at least one half-assed furry submission. It's not that furry art is bad, people are just too conservative about it and unwilling to venture into new territory. Go ahead, draw furries for the rest of your life. Your art skills won't get any better doing that.
My reply:
Have you EVER actively browsed through other places with furry art? Not just here? You have no idea how much variety there is in it. 90% of the furry artists here are, in fact (and very unfortunately) teens who have latched onto it as an art style. Furry art is FAR from limited in what you can do with it. And yes, I did see that DTF, I even +fav'ed it. I draw furry art because I enjoy it, and my friend does to for the same reason. What irked me, was the fact that you SAID it -needed- (emphasis on needed) to be more anime-ish and whatnot. Which is complete bull, because that's all people are drawing nowadays. Which just circles back around to your comment about people being unwilling to venture into a new territory. And I have been drawing my furry style for quite a few years now, before the anime-ish style got all hyped up. And I'm quite willing to venture into new territories, but it doesn't mean I'm good at it, or will want to post it. And my art skills have in fact become better over the years, and most of what I've drawn is furry (with some humans mingled in). Just because someone posts one kind of art, doesn't mean that they haven't done others.
Argh. I'm well aware of some of the stuff that goes up on DA in the anthro category. But that doesn't mean you post crap in their galleries and make them feel bad about what they're drawing. >_< I fucking hate people. :P
Anyhow, now that that's done for the minute.
Today, I have accomplished...... Nothing! Ta-da! ^_^
I do, however, have some art to upload, although I've got to finish the Aiyana pic I'm working on for TJ. And get around to drawing a pic of Jeremy in either a Hello Kitty costume or a Rainbow Brite one. I'm still trying to figure out which will break his spirit more... Hmm.. And I need to do a Lyra/Quentin pic. Cause Q keeps saying I'm all bark and no bite. That's okay, he'll get it soon.... Mwhahahahaha....
