Oh look, story of my life, I remedy one stupid thing and another one falls into my fucking lap.

A refund in the amount of $753.00 was recently processed on your student account in error. The refund was based on a $2082.00 (3/4 time)

Pell grant. However you are eligible for only a $1388.00 (half time)Pell grant since you are registered for only 6 credit hours for the Fall 2011 semester.

Your Pell grant has since been reduced to the appropriate amount based on your hours, leaving you with an account balance of $827.00.

I apologize for this error. You will need to return the refund or make a payment on your student account.

See, that refund $700 that I just got and paid the electric bill with and will also have to use on the rent for next month was from a seven week class I dropped last week because the course load was all through a separate website where I would have had to purchase an access code and a text book. Had I, of course, known this at the beginning of the semester, I would have dropped it. But the syllabus and section on Vista wasn't even posted until the first week of class. Because, of course, who the hell wants to be prepared for something, right?

I could get my classes dropped for owing $800. I could lose my grades I've worked for this semester (I'm averaging a 3.5GPA right now for the fall semester).

It wouldn't be our life if we weren't constantly getting fucked over. :/

Sounds like it's time to have a chat with the school's finance advisor. Perhaps there is something that can be done, especially for a 3.5GPA student.

I agree. Though knowing our college and the advisers there, they're more likely to shrug and shove their heads up their own asses.
