This is me rambling about clothes and ~girly~ things...

So I got my class refund money yesterday and, after setting aside my rent money and the rest of the money for my water bill, we went out to Chapel Hill Mall in search of a pair of boots for me. See, I have these boots (but with a bit more of a heel) TJ gave to me from Hot Topic once upon a time. They fit me, despite being 8/8 1/2s (I'm wearing a 9 now, who knows how that happened), but they left shoe digs into the top of my foot, so I can't wear them long or they get really painful. Plus, they have a heel on them and as much as I like wearing them, a heel isn't always practical. On top of that, I wanted a pair of boots I could wear through the winter.

I'm not complaining because, as I later discovered, the boots I bought were on my 'WANT' list for awhile now. But it took me ALL DAY to find them because the boots I set out to look for were all $50+ (which makes me a sad panda and are out of my price range) and the ones I bought were, like, $30.

I also scored a cute pair of low-top colorblock sneakers from Rue21 for, like, $5.

Aside from that, clothes-wise, I also bought this super cute skirt I've been pining over at Gabe's forever for only $5:



The photo sucks, but it's much brighter in person. It's not really short, either, which I like. Plus! I have a purple top that matches it PERFECTLY. It's a little poofy and flouncy and I really love it a lot. I think I'm seriously getting over my skirt phobia finally, which makes me happy because, well, I like cute skirts.

I also bought a pair of red tights and lacy tights, so I can wear some of my other skirts too since it's starting to cool off. I'm almost tempted to buy some of those sweater tights just for the winter in general, since I walk/bus everywhere. ~Layers~. I also bought this amazing hat:



NEON. GREEN. It matches nothing I own (well, maybe some t-shirts), but I love it. It was only $6, as well. But then I was sad when I saw all the obnoxious animal hats at Hot Topic. But TJ mentioned he has patterns for those sorts of hats, so we should make some of our own. Plus, they were $16 and I can't spend that much on a hat. I'm cheap.

We stopped at Toys R Us because they actually carry Minimates and the one by the mall seems to have the best selection. We found:



TJ's been hunting for that Terror Dog forever and we hadn't seen the Universal Monsters in stores yet. Plus, TJ loves both of those characters. Venkman is the odd man out, but we might repaint him as an Alec because I'm ~thinking~ of grabbing ond of the Max (Dark Angel) ones from eBay since they're super cheap and I ~really~ want one. Stupid shows getting cancelled. HMPH.

Uh, we picked up some cheap Halloween decorations, some purple lights and a cute bat garland. Bought a pumpkin bandana for Melanie and we'd bought eyeball toys for the critters last week, too. Had Chic-fli-A for dinner and then headed home for sleeps.

Today it's chilly out, you can tell fall is coming. I wish the temperature would just hang around 70F forever and ever, but we can't be so lucky. I'm also hungry and I want a coffee, so I might walk up to the gas station.

In news that isn't my buying ridiculous things, TJ's name change hearing is tomorrow morning and he's really nervous about it. I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. It's not like he's changing it to something ridiculous or absurd.

Then we have to get him a new license and...eventually tell his mother and I don't know how that's going to go but, in my opinion, she's just going to have to deal with it.
