Wanna hear a cool story? It's the weekend before classes and my other job starts and...
I'M FUCKING SICK
My rage, it knows no bounds. My head is stuffed up and congested, my throat is all scratchy and when I cough real hard, it feels like I'm going to throw up. I mean, it's pretty much the same thing I had at the beginning of the year when school started back, but it still sucks. It's just a combination of running around a lot and being around A FUCKING LOT of people. SO many people on campus for orientation and shit.
So, so, so many.
I've been taking Dayquil and eating cough drops and drinking tea. TJ also found me the Theraflu just a few minutes ago. It had disappeared and then was right under my nose.
I'm dreading work tomorrow. It's, like, nine hours. Maybe I can get them to let me out a little early, if I'm feeling terrible enough. But then Sunday I have, like, four hours I go in for orientation sort of thing at the Schwebel Room. It's not actual work, just some minor training and an overview of the Tuesday menu. So I'm not TOO concerned about that.
But then classes start on Monday and I have to let the bookstore know that I can only work until 2PM and not 3PM like I originally thought.
Being sick makes everything feel REALLY overwhelming because all I want to do is sleep and complain.
Speaking of FUCKTON OF PEOPLE. It's like the population of Kent gets mildly more retarded when fall semester starts. Or, at least, the incoming students.
However, working at the bookstore hasn't been so bad even with helping someone EVERY SINGLE SECOND. I don't mind it because no one coming in there has any idea what they're looking for.
I do feel kind of :| about the post-secondary students, though. Not, like, them specifically, but the fact that we got so fucked out of that seuge from high school into college by Harding and the faculty not giving one fuck about our graduating class. The post-secondary kids get to rent books on a government account (or something like that) and, well, generally get to move right from high school and dip their feet into college classes. I just wish we'd had that opprotunity, even if I didn't take it.
But, hey. I can't complain too much. I mean, I'm going to college regardless so I shouldn't bitch.
