LOVES
01 | I really love living in a college town. I know most people probably wouldn't, but I love the variety of people who come in for the fall and spring semesters and the quiet summers when everyone has gone home.

02 | I love living in walking distance to pretty much everything I need. I can go grocery shopping and do laundry without having to use the car which saves me gas, which saves me money. I can take the bus if I need to go anywhere outside of walking distance, which I also love.

03 | I have, essentially, a house. Sure, it's half of a house, but it has two floors and two rooms and it's both roomy and cozy at the same time. It's more than enough room for all of our stuff and critters. Plus, it's a place of my own. I'm not bumming off someone else and I don't have assholes for landlords.

04 | Thunderstorms. I've always loved them, but I missed them so much living in Seattle. Thankfully, Seattle gave me an appreciation for rain and a greater love for thunder and lightning.

05 | I love that I'm in easy driving distance to halfway decent places. Cleveland isn't an hour and a half drive anymore. Hartville is right down the road and the Akron Zoo is maybe a twenty minute drive.

HATES
01 | I loathe the winters here. I love the late spring/early summer and autumn. I can even deal with the 90F summer heat. But winters are the worst. Even if we don't get a lot of snow, it's dreadfully cold. Sometimes, we get TOO MUCH snow and it's just a hassle to do anything. When we lived in Seattle, it snowed THREE TIMES. Christmas, New Years and once afterwards. It was gone by the afternoon.

02 | The economy kind of sucks right now, so it's been hard to find a job. NE Ohio tends to be notoriously lame when it comes to unemployment rates and lack of work.

03 | ...uhhh. I'm finding it hard to find five things I hate about where I live right now.

COMPARISON
I've lived in NE Ohio, Cape Hatteras, NC, Greenville, NC, Virginia Beach and Seattle. Seattle is by far my favorite because, well, SEATTLE. I mean, I didn't live in Seattle proper (I lived in Silverdale, on the other side of the sound), but it's easier to tell people you lived in Seattle than some town they've never heard of.

Virginia Beach was nice, but there was a lot of drama with it. Plus, the weather was SO HOT it was almost unbearable. But having the ocean right therE was amazing.

Cape Hatteras was nice, but there was a lot of ~family drama~ with that, as well. I'd love to go back, though.
