obliviousally_ljI am so pissed off at Melanie right now I just slakhgfakldfg.
So, for a few days there, she'd been going to the bathroom in the house. This was mainly my fault as it was hot as balls and I was just sleeping all day. Obviously, I didn't want to put her on her lead out back or walk her, as it was as previously mentioned, hot as balls. I'd cleaned everything she went on up and mopped the floor with water/vinegar so she wouldn't think to go again.
She'd peed on the bathmat in front of the tub, so we bought a new one but she peed there AGAIN because she could still smell it in the carpet. So we now block the bathroom off with a baby gate (which is ridiculous).
The last two days were fine. She didn't go where she normally goes and she was put out or walked in timely manners. I put her food up after midnight (because I usually walk her at 4AM-ish) so she'd be less likely to pee inside.
Last night, I went to bed and she showed no signs of needing to go out. She'll let us know when she has to go out when we're awake by dancing and whining. When we're asleep, however, she doesn't give us a signal. At all.
Now, normally she sleeps in the extra room on the bed or her dog bed. Sometimes she sleeps in our closet on her blanket. On the rare occassion (when it's storming) she sleeps on the bed but not unless we can help it (it's a very rare occassion).
This morning I woke up and found she'd peed o ON the bed, near the bottom. WHILE we were sleeping. I'm a deep sleeper, so I didn't notice her and we have two twin beds shoved together for our bed, so TJ wouldn't have felt it at all.
I am pretty much furious. I don't know why she did this at all.
Especially when, given that she's peed places she's already peed before (because it still smells like urine), why she wouldn't have gone on the carpet downstairs near the back door (there's only two carpeted, outside of rugs, places in our house: the bathroom and the kitchen), since she peed there once before.
I'm just really, really pissed. This is the second time she's gone on our bed (once, she was left in the house while we went somewhere and just really had to go. I'm not holding that one against her. We close the bedroom door when we leave now) and I know dogs don't tend to go where they sleep (or the general vicinity).
I'm tired of having to wash my fucking comforters more often than I need to.
I don't know if I should just start confining her to one room or what. I don't have a crate for her currently because they're back in Warren. She's not stupid, she knows to let us know when she has to go out, so I don't know why she's not doing that while we're asleep as well as while we're awake.
Plus, she seems to only want to go potty when she goes for walks and when I put her on the lead out back (where there's more than enough room to wander), she just sits down and barks at things.
I'm just really angry because my fucking bed and I know these are sort of dog owning hurdles one must deal with but she pissed on my fucking bed.
