The cats got spayed yesterday (that's Sammy, BTW). There's a nice low cost/no cost spay/neuter clinic in Akron and, since we're on food stamps now and we have the Direction Card, we were able to get them fixed for free (well, technically $10 for an after surgery painkiller shot).
We took them out there at 7AM and they were really well behaved in their carriers in the car. They hadn't been in a car since we brought them to the house and only once before that. Dean got a little restless after a little while, but at least he wasn't yowling.
When we picked them up, they were groggy and drugged. Sammy just laid in his carrier and stared at us with the 'why do you do this?' expression. Dean was pretty active for being so out of it, surprisingly. Once they got home, I kept them in my room for a bit and waited a little while to feed them, since the painkillers can sometimes cause animals to vomit or act weird. Thankfully, there was none of that. They ate well and drank well and mostly hung around us.
Today, they're back to their normal selves with no in-heat yowling (they had just started to go into heat before their appointment) and talking! Plus, they're not chewing at their stitches, so that's definately a good thing. I was worried we'd have to go out and get a cone of shame for each of them.
As long as the weather isn't TOO bad, we're going to be BBQing for the Supernatural finale, which sound be fun. We have pies! :D PIIIIIIES.
I'm hoping it, at least, warms up because the last three days of rain and overcast have been pretty bleh.
I have $300 towards rent. I'm waiting on $100 from commissions (which I'm still taking!!). It's a pain because I've already got sketches down for both of the people I'm waiting on and now I'm just sitting here twiddling my fingers because I can't do anything else with said commissions. Then I'm only $100 short, which isn't so bad.
It's just a pain. Jobs still aren't biting, either. Hopefully something will come up when kids start going home in the next week (finals were this week, so as of Friday, spring semester is officially over). Then, once I get my school stuff worked out, I'll have financial aid at the beginning of next month to catch me up on bills and all that, as well.
I just can't to be able to be on top of things. My bills aren't even that bad (aside from the gas, but it was fucking cold before the snow thawed), so it's aggravating that I can't keep up on them due to the fact I can't find a job anywhere.
