D20 Girls Magazine (image for those of you without Facebook)

Yeah, sure, it's a cute idea. GRRL POWER and all that bullshit. But do girls REALLY need a SEPERATE magazine ABOUT them and gaming? Really?

Actually, to be honest, I'm most offended by what looks to be Comic Sans (or a variant thereof) on their cover and, well, just an atrocious cover to begin with.

Also, yeah, you're calling it 'pictorials', but it's still probably girls standing around looking 'cute' to draw in a male audience. Yes, I went there. On top of that, collar + giant jingly bell makes me think furry and therefore causes you to lose all credibility.

It really amazes me that someone thought that cover was GOOD and is using it to represent the group. I mean, I don't have any sort of solid graphic design background. But there's a lot more that could be done with that to make it look at least a little bit professional.

Also the pose and clothing are totally suggesting that those girls are dating, thereby drawing in even more of a male readership. :B

I was thinking that, too. The giant jingly bells make me think furry/kitty girl weaboo. The collar makes me think alternative lifestyle (of whatever sort). The interlocked arms post gives the impression that there's something 'more' there.

Also that only one of them is wearing high heels.

No, girls don't need their own gaming mag. I'm perfectly fine with all the magazines that are already out there.

That cover is so tacky.. and honestly it looks like it's supposed to attract more men than women.

They really, really don't. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the gaming magazines on the market right now.

it just makes me think of those girls who think they're better than other girls because they play the same video games as the boyz. no animal crossing for us, lol, we're GAMERZ.

God, I hate that mindset.

I mean, I play some pretty 'un-girly' games, like Silent Hill and Resident Evil and, hell, even Manhunt. But I also like 'girly' games like Animal Crossing, Cooking Mama and, to an extent, Katamari (because, while it is exceedingly fun for anyone, it doesn't have the 'boy game' prerequisites).

But I've never considered myself to be BETTER than someone because I play video games.
