Well, you know we're all just sinners...
Feb. 1st, 2010 12:15 amBiggest gripe about the house so far?
There's squirrels in the attic. The attic floor is SUPER THIN. It seriously sounds like they're IN the house itself, but they are not. Just grunting and making squirrel noises and squirrel tear-assing across the floor up there at all hours of the night because, apparently, SQUIRRELS DO NOT SLEEP.
So, something I need to mention to the landlord when I see him Tuesday.
Aside from that, normal old-house issues. Colder in some places, drafty old windows and doors. Things easily solved with heavy curtains and a towel in front of the doors. Otherwise, things are pretty good. I've been looking for small stand to put in the kitchen to give me more space. The ceiling is really high, so I can work that to my advantage. But it's coming together slowly.
Tuesday or the weekend, my mom is helping us move things. So we can have our bed finally. Woo!
I walked up to campus to get some books from the library. That was certainly an adventure. I've NEVER been past the first floor of the campus library, so I didn't realize how FUCK HUEG it was. I got a little lost before I understood how the call numbers for the books worked, then everything was fine.
I then got LOST AGAIN trying to get to 59 so I could get coffee/food. I ended up walking ALL THE WAY AROUND the campus loop and, by the time I was on my way back home, had walked around almost the ENTIRETY of the main campus. My feet want to die and I was so cold.
BUT, I got the books we needed, so whatevs.
I have homework to do, mostly reading and catching up on writing journal entries for Writing. I have some painting things to do for 2D Comp Tuesday, as well.
I don't think I'm over this cold yet. It really hit me hard last night and I THINK it's working its way out of my system, but I've also been running ragged the last week (especially with daily trips into Warren to move things and loading up the roof rack and general physical labor like that). So I don't know what the fuck it's doing, but I can't wait for it to go away.
I also can't wait for spring.
