Today was the first really hot day in awhile. It doesn't help that I biked up to campus and then Tony decided to come up and hang out with me, but the campus buses run stupid during the break between summer sessions and he had to wait almost forty minutes for it to show up. Then the connection on campus sucked and he wasn't feeling well, so we decided to walk home. It was so hot. Augh. I want to find somewhere to reside where the temperature is always in the seventies. that would be perfect.

Honestly, there hasn't been a lot going on. We're just waiting for when we can get our financial aid money advance so I can pay the electric and water bills and I can do clothes and such. So, other than that, it's been a lot of lazing about, sleeping, and cleaning here and there. I worked all of finals week, but the bookstore probably won't need me again until the fall semester starts up.

I've been working on roleplaying and writing stuff. I go through cycles where it's all art and no writing, and then the opposite happens. I can't complain too much because at least I'm always doing something creative. But I hate when I WANT to draw or I WANT to write and it just doesn't happen.

I'm planning on doing nanowrimo (one of the few things I will put in all lowercase because it just looks better) this year. It's going to be about Connor (Poe's cousin/best friend) and his girlfriend. I'm gradually gathering and posting stuff here, if anyone's interested.

I've been keeping a blog to reblog my smut into and talk about sex stuff. It's really not all that exciting, but there's pretty pictures. Mainly, I wanted somewhere to post nudes and some more porn-y bits without it going into my main blog and all.

I've been making a lot of DOHTML codes for thread templates and forum-based RP stuff, nothing all that special. The only shiny bits I've made are these:

Also, is anyone on my f-list familiar at all with Dark Angel? I want some opinions on a forum I'm making, but I'm not getting a lot of bites on the RP forums I frequent (Caution is mainly focused on real life games and RPG-D just...hasn't been giving me anything good). Even if you're not a roleplayer, that's fine, I just want to make sure my info posts are understandable and all that jazz.

I've been reading again, as well. Much like art/writing, I go through cycles with reading where I really want to and then it's just too much work. It's a pain because I LOVE reading, but I also think I need new glasses. Reading the tiny type in books is really a strain for me. So I've been downloading PDFs of some more popular books that I've been wanting to read (or have already started on) and being able to size the pages up is really a relief on my eyes.

I finished The Hunger Games last night and I really enjoyed it. I think it really stands apart from other books of its subject matter (Battle Royale, specifically). I'll be completely honest, I read the first part of the book and it made me all weepy and sad, so when I started into the second part I was like OH MY GOD, EVERYONE'S GOING TO DIE NOOO and then I had to return it to the library. It felt anticlimatic, but I think that's because it's intended to be a three-parter and not have each book stand alone. So I dove right in to Catching Fire and everything was okay.

I also had started reading Fight Club when I was at the bookstore, so I'm also making my way through that as well. I know, I know, it's not a very long book at all and I'm over halfway through it, but I'm also doing a dozen other things at the same time and I'm easily distracted. Plus, sometimes my reading interest will change suddenly and I'll switch to something else.

Tony also has books around the house I want to get around to reading. Particurarly, re-reading straydog and reading Lives of the Monster Dogs. He also has the Switchers Trilogy which is, according to Tony, like Animorphs. Also, speaking of Animorphs, I downloaded the entire series because I'd started reading it long, long ago and never completed the series.

Then, there's Harry Potter, which I will gradually work my way through.

I just noticed one of the rubber nubbies from the bottom of my laptop has disappear. Hrm.

I upgraded to Firefox 4 because I wanted to use a new tumblr addon. It's okay, but it's a LOT like Chrome. I had to do a bit of fiddling to get my toolbars how I wanted and get everything where I like it to be. It's not too bad, though. I like the new addons tab and the grouped tabs thing. Also! The app tabs are a blessing because I have at least five specific tabs open all the time.

I also downloaded Chrome to have a backup browser that isn't IE. I'm mainly using it for RP stuff, so I don't have eight-million tabs open in FF all the time. BUT, the main reason I downloaded it is because IT has a up-to-date LJ Login-esque addon and the one for FF hasn't been updated for 4 yet. I need it, you just don't know.

I put a journal up on FA for some character descriptions because I felt like doing some requests. Thankfully, people didn't give me shit for choosing the ones I like the best. Then again, I really wouldn't have cared if they did.

After White came out, I was reminded I was going to do dumb sprites for the SPN crew (mainly, for our SPN game) and I did a few the other week. I mainly just edited the sprites, though minimally. The Rich Boy Trainer for Lucifer was the easiest because all I needed to do was change the shoe color and add a little rose to his jacket. Sam's sprite was overhauled from Lucifer. I changed Ruby's hair from the normal sprite and Dean's jacket got overhauled. I used a gym leader for Dean, so that's why his sprite is taller than the others.

I've been watching through season one of Dark Angel. I've already watched all of S2 (because of Jensen Ackles, natch), but I was reading the old Dark Angel thread on the TV Without Pity forums and everyone was saying that S1 and S2 are completely different creatures. So I gave it a shot and, yeah, they really are. S1 is more cohesive and the plot makes a lot more sense. S2 is kind of all over the place and the plot shifts really badly from Max finding her siblings to the whole snake cult.

I still don't (and probably never will) buy Logan and Max's relationship. Overall, they just don't have the chemistry and the writers pushed it WAY too fast, it's kind of ridiculous. There's a few times where I'm like 'oh, that's cute, maybe that could work', but it's always overshadowed by the next episode starting with them fighting over something stupid. They just don't 'work' together.

Anyhow, since Tony and I have been doing a bit of DA-based RP lately, I made this map of Seattle in that canon because I like having stuff like that for reference in games. I've been adding canon locations as I go along in the series. The majority of the credit for this goes to this Alec site, which has a Seattle map for the show on it. It only shows the downtown locations, however and I wanted to expand on that.

A handful from Devour and some from the Supernatural episode The End, which has delicious Samifer in the white suit. :3 Plus, I capped some of the more Josh Hartnett-y scenes from I Come With the Rain. My webtech course for this semester is finished. I didn't realize it was only a seven week course until about halfway through. But whatever, same amount of credits, same legit grade. I got a final grade of a B, as well. If the teacher had used +/- grades, I would have had an A-. Lame.

I registered for Summer classes. Hopefully with only being three credit hours this semester, that didn't fuck up my financial aid. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm waiting for bad news. If none comes, all the better.

I'm taking that Baking and Pastry class on a whim. I hope it'll be a fluff class and not SRS BSNS. Plus, it'll make me wake up reguarly and do something every day, which I'll be happy for in the summer. The other two are online courses, obviously. One to get an old class out of the way (one of the ones I had taken at Stark that I couldn't complete) and another for more VCD stuff until I can declare it as my major - if I even do.

I cut my hair the other day. I was too impatient to wait to go to the salon, go figure.

It has, now, however, taken on a very Joan Jett-ish look, which I'm cool with. My bang absolutely have no care what I want them to do, so I let them do whatever.

Since I'm done with my webtech course, I don't feel a great hate towards CSS anymore. Mainly because I'm not being forced to code things and also because I finally GET IT. It was really a revelation.

So, I decided to re-code my headpeople/character chart page. It was originally all tables and rounded corner images and stuff that I'd picked up from other people to use. It was a pain in the ass to add new entries overall. Now, it's much nicer.

If people like it, the code is up on pastebin. I may update it as I refine things, however. But it's the basics as is right now.

I also made this thing last night. It's for an RP comm Angie, Tony and I have. I just sometimes like doing dumb things in InDesign because it's fun.

I don't think I posted the SPN character sheet? I can't remember if I did or not, so here it is (possibly again).
