I really like these two pages because they show the grunts of H.A.M.M.E.R. (formerly S.H.I.E.L.D, for those not following) sort of giving a bit of an opinion. And the fact that Stark ISN'T hated by everyone, either.

In IIM, after S.H.I.E.L.D. is taken over by Norman Osborne, Tony is wanted and on the run (this actually follows World's Most Wanted, I think. Or is the second half of it.). He destroys his armories of suits so Osborne can't get them and then, essentially, preforms a 'harddrive wipe' on his brain (because Extremis essentially made his brain mush like a harddrive - if I'm remembering the details correctly) and he's slowly losing everything he knows. That includes how to 'work' his suits. So the simpler his intelligence becomes, the simpler the suits must be.

He did the self-lobotomy because he has to only copy of the Superhero Registration Database in his head and if Osborne were to get it, people would be in deep shit because it has all their identities and shit. Also, to protect the Stark Tech that Osborne doesn't have, which I think is just Extremis (which I'm thinking Pepper may have now, actually).
