This is only partially verbatim...

TJ: *BRILLIANT IDEA* I'M GOING TO SHAVE MY CROTCH HAIR INTO A MUSTACHE
Ally: D: D: D: *texts Squeeji*
Squeeji: FUCKING YES I WILL DO THIS TOO
Ally: Ugh!
Squeeji: Like frenching a sideways mouth.
Ally: I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

Yesterday, I took some books back to the library and mailed out some conbadges. While out, me and Loki trekked ALL OVER TOWN to take photos. Literally. From Packard Park all the way to the Oakwood Cemetary and most places inbetween.

I'm not going to post ALL of these images at once. But this'll be the first batch.

This is the old Packard House apartments. Which were in-use until a few years back (at least five, I don't recall what year they were cleared out and closed up). The place was condemned for various reasons (mostly poor upkeep) and all the tenants ushered elsewhere. We couldn't get in the upper parts, but we got in the bottom/ground floor easy enough (broken window) and we were thrilled at how awesome the place looked. It literally looked like no one had been in there for a decade or more. The place was entirely gutted, the stairs torn out or boarded up. In-between walls removed and just the stone left in its place. So it was quite easy to move between the apartments.

After we checked out the inside, we went around back to see if we could find a way in to the upper apartments. The building is located right next to the welfare office and in a VERY busy daytime area. So we were already tempting fate just by wandering around.

We didn't find a way in, the place was boarded up tight. Which I'm actually kind of thankful for. Because if we could've found a way in, so could people who would trash the place. And it's aVERY old building. They were originally luxury apartments back in the day. How the mighty have fallen. Here's a small arcticle from 2006 on the building.

We did end up getting approached by a security guard from next door, inquiring what we were doing. They didn't seem terribly concerned when we told them we were just 'photographers'. They told us to be careful with the fire escapes and be careful because sometimes people sleep in the building (which I actually saw ZERO signs of).

As we were leaving, a kid waiting in the parking lot told us they were going to check for No Trespassing signs to see if they COULD call on us for being around the building. But we were already heading off and nothing ever came of it.

The first few images are from a tiny little 'park' near the Warren City School building (which is near the library). I've always love the place and it's so hidden from everyone.

That last image was from some rail cars. I don't get it.

I haven't done any fiddling with these yet (the one with the weird ghostly image was just my exposure on for longer than normal), but I'll probably fancy some up or play with some textures and stuff.

I also posted a small bit of photos over on my flickr!

Have you seen Opacity (http://www.opacity.us/)? Lots of urban decay photography. I haven't been keeping up with the site like I used to, but Motts does amazing work.

Just to inform you all, mustache-shaped pubic hair on a woman is known as a MUFFSTACHE.

Because knowing is half the battle.
