Blue skies and the morning's air...
Mar. 18th, 2009 07:09 pmWe went down to the library today and picked up a SHIT TON of comics and graphic novels.
Let me try to list what we acquired:
Spider Man Loves Mary Jane: Super Crush
The Exterminators: Insurgency
The Road to Civil War
Alan Moore's Complete W.I.L.D.C.A.T.S.
30 Days of Night: Spreading the Disease
Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Blue Beetle: Road Trip
House of M: Avengers
Iron Man: Hypervelocity
Iron Man: Doomquest
Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America
Tommysaurus Rex
Captain America: Ice
Batman: Harley and Ivy
Maus
Dead High: Yearbook
Plus, most of Fables (there were a few out, so we just grabbed what they had) and the latter half of Elfquest (Seige at Blue Mountain, The Secret of Two-Edge and Kings of the Broken Wheel).
SO! Lots and lots and lots of reading and yay.
We were going to grab Watchmen, but it was all out (one being due back LAST MONTH). So we'll just grab it whenever it comes in.
Speaking of Watchmen, we were watching the opening sequence and someone on 4chan pointined out the Last Supper reference with Sally's retirement. TJ asked, offhandedly, if The Comedian (who she's got the hots for) was Judas and I did some Googling to discover...yes. Same pose and everything.
I lul'd. HARD.
Other than that, work has been about the same.
I've been getting through these badges pretty nicely. I don't know why I can't do the same with my larger commission work. I really, really don't. But I really, REALLY need to get something done with them. I wish I could just do badges all the time. Little cute things that don't consume all of my time and effort I could be using on personal art (which I really haven't done any of aside from those Tegaki doodles).
Ah, the pain of being a commission artist. Woe is me.
