Me and TJ rung in the new year sitting on our asses, drinking delicious alcopop and playing WoW. I FINALLY HIT LVL30. I was determined to do it before midnight. So now I have my MIGHTY PURPLE CHOCOBO STEED who is not nearly gay enough for me. Srsly. At all. I want one with rainbows and sparkles and cupcakes and shit. I'm a Blood Elf, I EXUDE gay.

I decided to wait until today to do a photo dump of shit I've taken pictures of with my camera in the last week or so. I can't fucking figure out how to change the size setting on it. So it's outputting them at CRAZY HUEG SIZE and I don't want that because it LAAAAAAAAAGS my computer when I try to open a bunch of images. But I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to do so. You can resize images one by one, yes. But that's not what I want. I want them resized TO BEGIN WITH.

Augh.

Okay, that wasn't as many as I thought. Wow. I still don't quite have the hang of the new camera yet. A year without one has obviously been crippling.

2008 had its ups and downs.

Living in Washington was amazing. I still really miss Krispy and a lot of things out there.

The move back from Seattle made us feel pretty crappy early on. Though not as crappy as we'd felt the prior months in our living situation out there. But, thankfully, before leaving, we smoothed things over. It's a pity that couldn't have happened earlier but, hey, life's a funny creature.

A week hanging with Squeeji and Elliot in South Dakota was awesome. I managed to successfully break into Squeeji's car (the keys had been locked inside) using my awesome Gnawer skillz. We went to see Iron Man and fell back in love with comic books and discovered a new fandom (which we're awesomely cracking in our own special way).

I slowly learned my job here was managed by asshats. I think it's an Ohio thing. I didn't have to deal with this much stupidity out in Silverdale. But here? IT COMES IN SPADES. But I made some new work friends who I can rant and bitch with.

Anthroncon was pretty decent. Mostly made AWESOME by the presence of the people we roomed with (Mitsene, Dan, Louve, Squeeji, Elliot) and meeting all sorts of new people and seeing faces we hadn't seen in a year or more (Mar, Jonas, Skech, Farelle, etc., etc.). I really can't remember anything EPICLY horrible about AC except for the fact we didn't get the suit we were planning on debuting done. But we made due and, hey, it could've been worse. In the end, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

October brought Tikicon, which we'd been looking forward to since we'd arrived back home. It was as awesome as we could've hoped, even with being a first year convention in THIS area. People raved and awesomeness was experienced by all. We met new people (Terry, Ren, Todd, Chris, the couple who runs Screaming Bean Cafe who's names escape me, etc., etc.) and a few celebrities (except for whats-his-face who was an ass to TJ).

Since then, things have kind of been on a downward slope. They'll go back up eventually, it's just coping with them until that happens. I know I bitch and moan a lot here, but it's my outlet. I'm awful with keeping a paper journal, so I vent here. I'm sure some people think my life is absolutely awful or something, but it's not. It's just difficult sometimes. And, hey, who's isn't?

Artistcally? I think this year could've been better for me. But I did put out a lot of nice work, even if many pieces were commissions. Now, to work on breaking out of that damn anime style that's been plauging me for years.

2009 brings the possibility of another move (possibly out of state), which is something we're greatly looking forward to.

"Look, even bad years are pretty good years I think."
-- Robert Downey, Jr.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-- Mark Twain

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway."
-- Mother Teresa.

I'm waiting for SOMEONE to go "well, you've moved three times and they didn't work out, what makes you think this one will?" and I'll be like "because I'm out of this goddamn town and that's all I need".

Your rat pictured here looks DEAD ON like one of mine to the point where I wondered what exactly you thought you were doing with my pet.

Also, I went to Tikicon! If you were there Saturday, I was that girl in the wheelchair that kept accidentally running herself into displays.

Happy new year. :]

Haha, I have four hoodeds currently. A girl and three boys. That's one of the old men, Walter. I can't get any good pics of his evil blind cagemade, Pamcake (who chases cats and bites toes), sadly.

I staffed at Tikicon, so I was literally all over the place all weekend. Usually hanging out with a tan skinned girl who was sporting an arc reactor on....Saturday, I believe.

well when it comes to photo resizing.. i either a) upload them to photobucket after adjusting the photobucket uploady optiony thing to 800x600 or whatnot. i also just recently discovered this mass photo upload tool in photoshop elements that lets you load pictures right off the camera and it resizes them all en masse. i dunno if any of the other photoshops have it though 8[
