I never had to hide any books from my mom. I grew up with a large selection of V.C. Andrews and Stephen King books to peruse. I never actually read any of them all the way through, of course. But I liked the covers to the V.C. Andrews books and I'd skim through Stephen King books for the interesting parts.

Past that, I loved Goosebumbs and spooky books like that. I read most anything I got my hands on or had an interesting cover.

my mom let me read Anne Rice and Stephen King in elementary school.
