Screaming TikiCon - Day 1

I'm doing my best to remember that it's a first year con and everything that can go wrong likely will.
The meeting was a meeting in the loosest sense of the word. Peter got held up in Boardman and we had to wait around for him. There was SUPPOSED to be pre-reg for the con and the gamaing tournaments, but that didn't happen because we were SUPPOSED to be in the Expo center on WEDNESDAY. So we only did pre-reg pickup instead and had to let everyone else know they could do their registration tomorrow(today) morning
We have a handful of volunteers, which is good. I imagine there'll be a few more once things pick up today, but it should be okay either way. The dealer's room isn't HUGE, after all. It's just the Expo center. Not like, say, Anthrocon's dealer's room.
But, really, as long as things are enjoyable overall, it should be good.
Apparently, there were around 1,000 pre-registrations. We're in every local newspaper, we've been advertised at every major con between California and New York. All the local TV stations are coming down to check us out, as well. We have absolutely NO competition right now, either. Mid-Ohio was last week (apparently) and there's sports games NEXT weekend, as well as a convention in Pittsburgh.
Came home for a break and a short nap, since everything seems to have smoothed out a bit.

I TALKED TO TODD DEGAZO OMG. He's really cool, we all chatted about comics and stuff, of course.
Also met another cool artist guy who's pretty awesome.
Things were, of course, crazy. Figuring out how to get people in to the air dome was fun. As was manning the air dome (you have to close one door, then open the other or else the whole thing will deflate!). Getting everything in order was crazy. People are, of course, stressed, but the kinks will work themselves out.
