obliviousally_ljI was attacked by a jumping spider today. We have a long standing rivalry and held a fierce battle.
He LEAPT DOWN ON MY DESK. FROM ABOVE. SOMEWHERE. Almost on my hand. Right by my mouse. I flipped shit and he scurried off to HANG OUT ON MY MONITOR while I found the mighty SHOE to do him in. We played this little game where he hid on the back of my monitor, which I can't see or reach with any amount of accuracy. He kept peeking around the side, only to scurry back when I spotted him. Eventually I took a shot and he DROPPED DOWN ONTO MY COMPUTER TOWER. And proceeded to crawl about the wires. This meant drastic measures because if I didn't get him NOW, he was going to end up somewhere where I COULDN'T get him and he'd strike again.
So I sprayed him with some Raid and made him become one with the carpet.
I usually toss spiders out, or leave them be if they have their little webs somewhere out of the way. But this dude was out for me and I wasn't having it.
I think I'll try to push out some commissions today. I have some REALLY rough sketches out for people that I need to refine just slightly before showing it for an 'okay'. I need to find some references for a few and get a few more down on paper. There's a small handful I'm holding off on because I'd like to get them RIGHT and have the references in front of me and not on my tiny iriver screen.
I got an art card done today. Was nice coloring with marker again. I hadn't done it in a few weeks. Doing Armania's scrapbook commission is going to be so much fun, once I get a pose for it!
Obviously, I'm feeling a bit better today. I haven't gotten the chance to talk to anyone with any sort of say on the TJ situation at work yet. Randy was off and Dawn wasn't in today. So I'll have to do that Monday. Because I really can't see how me letting them know why TJ wasn't able to come in is the same as a no-call/no-show. It's no different than me calling her off because she was sick or something like that.
I fear there may be a slow leak in the air mattress. Yes, our bed is an air mattress. I don't think we've had a real bed for, like, a year and a half now. It's quite sad. But the full from the apartment is too big to get over here and it's not in the best condition anyhow. And I'm too poor to buy a new one or anything. But when we both sleep on the air mattress, I have to refill it after we wake up, which hasn't been the case prior to the last few days. I could refill it one every week or two. And I don't want to go back to sleeping on the floor. Six months of that in Seattle was more than enough, thank you.
Fleas are back. In very small scale. But I'll need to finish cleaning and bathe all the animals and spray them down with flea spray. I've only spotted a handful. But where there's that many, there's a hundred times more. But it's been warmer than normal lately, so I'm assuming that's part of the issue. We didn't have any for awhile there, after all.
But it's not the end of the world. And I can't let it be the end of the world because if I start fretting over one little thing, I'll start fretting over EVERY little thing. And that's no good.
I'm hunting around for a second job in the mall. I figure, if I can get something after work at Target through the holidays, it won't interfere with my schedule (since we're starting at 2AM instead of 4AM and we'll be in at 11PM the week of Thanksgiving) and I can work in the mornings, which a lot of people aren't as apt to. And no one really offers themselves up for that 4AM Black Friday shift, but I'd be able to.
Plus, it saves on gas. Don't have to go anywhere else and I can just take a change of clothes with me to work and change in the bathroom. Not the first time, and certianly not the last.
I was going to apply at the K-Mart distribution center, as it's right between home and work, near the bypass and Delphi. But they likely have set shifts and it'd be hard to work around my Target schedule. Or vice versa.
So, we'll see. I don't mind having a second job if it means more money and I don't have seperate schedules or have to drive all over hell's half acre.
Me and TJ actually roleplayed today! It's been a little while. I mean, we banter in-character a lot, but it's different to be typing and playing.
I don't know, I've been having a hard time playing Ally in the last few months. So I haven't been. I mean, Ally's essentially myself and the things that happen ICly tend to end up affecting me in SOME way iRL. I know very well how to keep IC and OOC seperate, but it's a complication situation when you're playing someone so heavily based upon yourself and who uses the same thought processes you do.
So Ally just...hasn't been ICly active in a long time.
Instead, we've been playing Freckles (young Pepper) and Anthony (young Stark). Because they're awkward and funny. And it's something NEW. Because all our other characters are old hat at this point, and settled nicely into their little lives. Aside from Poe, who I bring out from time to time because she's interesting and interested in everything. But it gets a little boring playing the same thing over and over, which is how it'd gotten with Phe and Kyle especially. After the last big ordeal Phe went through, it jsut wasn't as fun to torment her anymore, I guess. She's comfortable and happy. And, at this point, she deserves it.
Blah blah blah. I really don't talk much about the headpeople here, so it's a little strange. I don't know where this all came from. :X
I swiped the new AC/DC album from Mininova the other day. Guess it'd been leaked early, apparently. It's definately AC/DC. Totally recognizable as them, which is good. I don't have a really solid opinion on the whole thing yet, as I haven't listened to it a whole lot. And I've gotten to the point where I give something a few listens before passing judgement on it. Because music has to grow on me sometimes.
I also downloaded the new Oasis album.Don't remember the name of it. Dig Out Your Soul.
I've been listening to a lot of weird indie music lately. Not that this is a bad thing, just new. I feel a little weird rattling off bands/singers I've been listening to and people staring blankly at me.
Speaking of music, can anyone offer me suggestions for songs involving alcohol and/or gradual declines into such/losing everything and/or redemption songs? :V
Also, would people be interested in me posting my fanmixes here? I generally post EVERYTHING I do here, but I don't want to clutter up my friends pages with things like that for some reason. Art is one thing, I assume that's why most people are watching this journal, after all.
