We have acquired a pair of kittens. Two dark-colored tabby monsters. They're about ten weeks, apparently. They're female, but we've named them Hank and Dean. Because, apparently, calling them 'faggot' as a name was unacceptable, according to TJ.

They're cute. I haven't had kittens or cats in years now. And the last ones we were around were at Angie's.

They like sleeping in TJ's papasan chair and they have no idea how to react to Tezzy. But ferret love kitten.

Slowly making headway on commissions. I wish I had a printer, so I could take references with me and work on them when I get off work at the mall. I seem to get the most work done in the food court at the mall, it seems. I guess it's because I can put my headphones on and not have any distractions? At home there's always something that needs my attention. D:

TJ has an interview at Target tomorrow. Hopefully that'll go well. It'll be really nice to have double the money coming in. Then we can SAVE money and keep my bank account from going under every other week. I can start getting caught up on my credit card (which I should really call about, so they'll stop pestering me), we can save money to move out, etc., etc. Once the holidays come around, money will be really nice because I was making $500-$700 a paycheck last year.

I spent the last hour or two reading about Greg Land, who makes me both furious and sad at the same time. I'm so amazingly sick of seeing all this photrealistic crap in Marvel these days. The Invincible Iron Man series is another example of this. And the main reason I won't pick it up. The art is awful, Pepper's barely recognizable in the comics. In one panel she looks like NICOLD KIDMAN. For fuck's sake, people! Nicole Kidman didn't even play her in the movie! If you're going to use a celebrity reference for her, use fucking GWYNETH PALTROW because THAT'S WHO PLAYED HER IN THE FUCKING MOVIE. Plus, there's a horrible abuse of dodge/burn instead of LEARNING HOW TO PROPERLY SHADE.

God, at least Rob Liefeld's art was HIS OWN. It may not have been all GOOD, but it was HIS.

Greg Land is to comics what Starfinder is to furries.

Traced art... bothers me. Not just on a moral level, but it always looks off but in such a subtle way you can't point to any one thing and say "this is off!"

Someone on artists-beware finally clarified it for me; it's because our eyes see in three dimensions, a camera in two. So most artists *who aren't tracing* manage to stylize the 3D aspect, which the camera (and tracers) don't.
