obliviousally_ljBoredom and discussion in #artspots prompts me to showcase the differences between the original appearances of my characters to...now.
[ Ally/Angel ]
1999 Ally was originally 'Alien'. Because that was my nickname a hundred years ago when I was big into the X-Files and Roswell and shit like that. She had green/turquoise hair and that bullshit angel/demon wing thing that everyone does at one point and thinks it's so original and unique. Oh, and she was brown.
2000 She had back scars, because around this time I believe I started playing Angel in a Vampire the Masquerade chronicle and she had them, as well.
2002 This is more of the Ally/Angel we know and love. But prior to me changing her face markings. I was also, obviously, going through a Bara-chan inspired giant limbs stage.
2004 Here's about when I changed her face markings. Man, that hair is awesome. :V
2005 First time I added my glasses to her design.
2006 Slowly becoming more akin to how I look/dress in real life. I'm still bad with remembering to give her a bit of pudge.
2007 I finally started seperating Ally from Angel. Ally is simple myself. Angel is based off of the vampire Angel I played back in the day. They're the same but they're different.
2008 Aaaaaand, Ally today. :V
[ Phoenix/Phe ]
1999 Oh. God. Phe had a SUPER EXTRA LONG braid back in the day. No face markings and no plugs. She was pretty generic.
2000 Phoenix got her plugs sometime in later 99. She got her tongue pierced prior to that. Probably summer 98. When I was living in North Carolina, actually.
2001 Finally got her face markings, in white. Those plugs look like ass. She originally had them all along her arms and legs. But I decided that was too much. D: She also had a phoenix 'tattoo' on her back before I determined it was too much work to draw and didn't make a whole lot of sense.
2002 Back when I would still draw her with wires and shit. She also got royally fucked up that year. I also think she got her face scar around this time, as well.
2003 No major appearance changed, but this was around the time Kyle up and left her to go to California.
2004 Started to refine her design. Changed the white markings to a cream color. And this year was the first appearance of a shorter hairstyle.
2005 The scar on her back is actually from Kyle. I believe I kept it on her design, I just never draw it. :X
2007 Finally started working for MiB. No huge physical changes again this year (aside from an acquired scar). She was also back with Kyle for good by now.
2008 Chase (her little brother) chopped her hair off! :V
[ Gwendolyn/Gwen ]
2000 Gwen hasn't had much in the way of any changes, actually. Aside from those she's done to herself in the form of haircolor.
2001 I did always have a hard time settling on a hairstyle for her, however.
2002 Obviously before I started actually drawing her with meat on her bones...
2003 Finally gave her some form of consistant stripes.
2005 always a candykid. :X
2007 Giving her more curves.
2008 Awwwwwwwwwww.
