Some of the rat boys got out last night. I didn't close their cage proper and they popped it open. Thankfully, all the girls are up our of reaching distance! Quidditch CAME UPSTAIRS and woke us up. Mind you, he has to HOP up each stair because he's so small. I took him back down and looked for the other. Binary was on top of the cage, Stanley, Waffle, and Harper still inside (Harper was asleep, even!) and I found PAMCAKE in the GARBAGE BAG in their room (it was half full of old nesting from when I cleaned their cages) eating things like it was totally the most normal thing in the world. I also found thTJ's lemon shake up from the fair on the other side of the room, and the lemon from the cup laying elsewhere.

It was quite entertaining.

It's still hot as balls. 86F. Ugh. I need to start taking things to work so I can work on art.

intardnet hijackings for me, which, to my mind is a very sad thing. Since between this month and next there are 5 checks, I'm putting a lot of hope into getting my replacement charger soon. I miss tegaki and LJ : (
Not that I'll get this for a while, but how much should i be feeding my monsters? I feed them a big handfull of seed/goodie mix and some cat food on top of the lab pellets they don't really eat once a day. they get treats too, so I'm convinced they're not starving, but they seriously act like i never feed them D :
Carolina got the bajeezus scared out of her the other day when we went to the pagan-ish hippie/coffee shop the other day. the owner has a dog, and she flipped the fuck out when it barked. XD She seriously hid in the small of my back the whole trip, poor baby. XD

what goes on with your troupe, any more dashing heroics from the escape artists?

Oh, they'll act like they're starving even if they have a full bowl of food. If it's food that comes from the outside of their cage, they obviously HAVE to have it and it's obviously BETTER than what's in their bowl. Even if it's the exact same thing. D:

We got rid of all the little girls! :D :D Thank god. There were fifteen of them (because one got pregnant on the drive back to Ohio!). We have a ferret now, a female. She's pretty cool and not stinky. :D She was abandoned at an apartment complex in Cleveland. I'm just thankful she's SO well tempered and behaved. :D

Ferret beast is named Tezrian. Which means 'warrior' or something. We call her Tezzy for short. :D

Yeah, we're down to...19 rats now. D: D: The group of six boys, the group of five boys (Fat-chan and his brothers), the four older girls, Mallow (we lost Smores on the drive home) and we have three new boys. One from the most recent litter (he was the ONLY BOY), another hairless, and a pretty black-speckled dumbo I named Opossum. :D

Has Binary's thing healed over well?

Yep. Only boy in a cage full of girlrats.

Binary got ANOTHER abscess about a month ago. But it came to a head pretty quickly and it's healed over now. He's got a bit of scar tissue where they both were, but he's no worse for the wear.

We lost Tequila (one of the patchy hairless girls) the other day out of nowhere. And Mallow's on the swift decline. But he's super old, so we've been expecting it for a little while now. :/
