Stuff and SWEET JESUS.
Aug. 8th, 2007 05:29 pmBack online. Hurrah.
The last few days have been something else.
We came back into Warren on Sunday, moved a good chunk of stuff back into the apartment. I spent the evening cleaning and organizing things. Emptying totes and organizing all of TJ's fur stock. We played video games, and then slept.
11AM on Monday morning, we're awoken by FIREMEN IN OUR APARTMENT. Jesus fucking christ. Apparently, the idiots in #1 left their stove on and FELL ASLEEP. The whole thing was more confusing than scary, because I didn't have my glasses on and, well, I sleep naked. So I had to find clothes and then get ushered outside to sit in the grass for a whopping twenty minutes while they finished up whatever they had to do in #1. Which mostly consisted of dragging the schorched stove outside and airing out the building. Hell, I was cranky when I got to the hallway and there was just a light bit of smoke. I was ready to turn around and go back to bed.
The only downside was the fact that, if it had been worse, we wouldn't have had the chance to grab any of the rats (which was all we had here on Monday).
After all of that, we went back inside and went to sleep. The building smelled like smoke for two days, but it's mostly gone now. And there wasn't much smoke in our apartment, just in the living room and kitchen.
We went back out to Streetsboro yesterday to get some more stuff. All that's left now is the gerbils and hamsters (three cages all together) and the furniture. Picked up my last check from Aladdin's and traded in a bunch of DVDs and a few games. Got $55 for all of it. Better than nothing.
Came home, loafed. There was an earwig in the apartment and I screamed alot and then killed it and screamed some more.
I hates them. D: D:
Today we're loafing. I slept until, like, 3PM. Mmmmm, sleeps. I've gotta put in some applications so we can get some money together to make the great drive to Seattle before the snow hits the Rockies.
I also opened the door to find an eviction notice thing on the apartment. Panicked. Turns out, the office is just using scare tactics on everyone that owes any money. Not a big deal after all. Thank god.
If I can wrap up most of my commissions, I can open for some more. But...eh. I don't know yet.
There's a cat that hangs around the buildings here. Apparently, he is owned by someone, but he's mostly a tom. He's very....talkative. He meows REALLY LOUDLY. We saw him twice yesterday, and when I went to get stuff from the car today, he was MEOWING and I was like 'WTF? Where are you?" and then I looked under the car and there he was, rolling around like a cat. He let me pet him, though, and tried to follow me into the building. He's a nice cat, just a little stupid, I think.
And now, art:

Commission work. Yup.
I also, FINALLY, made some new banners for my website:
