Agreed on yours and keepies comments. It's just a fandom, whenever i go meet up and hang out with furries, the fandom doesn't even come up. It's just one of many things that people can have in common and like, nothing more.

Well, on a female it's not so 'odd' because most people think in a generalized sense it is 'cute' and girls weir things to accesorize themselves. A guy however wearing tails and ears, or just a tail, gives people a 'creepy' vibe or something.

I is just a matter of perception. And lately, especially after Morphicon, I can honestly say I know where quite a few of the mundanes are coming from, for their perception of furries, espeically if the ones they see in public are those at conventions.

Furries tend to give themselves very bad publicity, unfortunately. And that makes the rest of us (relatively) well-adjusted folks look like complete freaks.
