Today is Wednesday. It is garbage night. Which means me and Angie set out on our GARBAGE PICKING CRUSADE.

Seriously. The people in the park throw out some of the nicest shit. And it's usually in decent condition or only needs a thing or two repaired on it.

We scored:
-- a wheelie cooler. (there were two of them, but we were nice and only took one. two would've been greedy)
-- a 20gal (i think) aquarium stand.
-- a laundry hanger.

We also saw a Power Wheels car, but it wasn't in great condition. So we had to leave it. Alas. One year I'll find one that still has battery life in it and I'm going to drive it home.

Overall? A good haul.

We also saw a fat raccoon in the carport. They come and go occassionally.

Hah, I call it dumpster diving ;D Even if no dumpsters are involved. Yeah, alot of people throw some awesome shit out, and since Nelsonville is a psuedo college town, and Athens is a big one, you can find some seriously marvelous shit. One year my friend Toni found a SNES and like 20 games for it. She also found a 100 pack CD spindle unoppened.

Just rich college kids who don't want to take anything home.

My mom calls is dumpster diving, as well. That was the term I was wracking my brain for, but I couldn't find it last night.

I should remember that and skip down to Kent, then, since it's a college town.

*nod* Well it's best when you go when the quarter are up, thats the best time to find gold. Otherwise, you looking weird.. heh.. It's a touch an go thing, somedays you find stuff, sometimes you dont, but it's best IMHO to go the day after finals, becuase folks start tossing stuff then.

Hmmm we call it Heap Week here. And I made a good haul this year. 4 ten gallon aquariums.

And 3 fully functional computers *dance*

One year we took home a Sega Saturn and two SNESs. That was a good year.

Oh, hell yes.

We wait for the park (cause we live in a huge, relatively high-class trailer park) to have their garage/yard sale weekends. And then we go out on garbage night and see what they're tossing that they didn't sell. :D

Angie said there was a large aquarium stand on the road over, but someone snagged it before we got back out to get it. D:
