Y'know, the fact that I'm making $9.30 an hour and working roughly 64 hours every two weeks (32 hours a week) and I'm not even clearing $400 with my paychecks is REALLY starting to piss me the motherfuck off.

My check was $388 today.

Now, let me do some math here.

32 - one week
+ 29 - two week
- 8 - absent day
x 9.30 - hourly
______________
= $492 - roughly

Okay? So, of course, taxes need a cut. Same equation as above, but at an $8.00 pay rate an hour instead of $9.30 would still be over $400.

So I'm just a LITTLE PISSED.

Sure, I claim 0 on my taxes, so I get it all back come refund time. But this is fucking absurd. I can't recall taxes being THIS fucking much.

So, I'll have to investigate and, possibly, claim 1 or 2 on my W2s, then. Because this is just getting absurd.

Yeah, I'd check and see if hours aren't missing from somewhere or if someone in payroll isn't dicking you over, be it accident or not.

Damnit, I like having monies!

I'm going to agree. Taxes seem like they are a lot more now a days. I discovered that for every $1 I spend it's roughly 10c in taxes. It's freaking me out!

I remember working 32 hours a week for $10.80 and not breaking $500. O_O

You should see higher tax brackets. They suck.

I make about $1,800 a check before taxes, but I only ever see $1,200 of that.

I made $112 for one week of work. They took out $68 for taxes. That leaves me with a $44 paycheck. THEY TOOK OUT MORE THAN HALF OF MY FREAKING MONEY.

I am seething with you, yes yes >=(

I'm almost positive that you could claim 1 on your W2 and still end up with a refund when you file.

This is why I work under the table, can't track it, and well, fuck the stupid system. When I worked at Doctor Browns back in 1998 full time, I pulled in 50+ hours a week at 15$ an hour. I'd barely clear 600$ every two weeks cause of stupid taxes. I also got DICK back at the end of the year, MAYBE like 700$?

So yeah I prefer to keep it under the eyes of old Sam, cause he's a greedy bitch, and it all goes to waste anyways.
