Flat colors...



Trying to keep with a light source. Upper righthand corner-ish. So far, to good I think. I'm debating on if there should be more highlight on the right side, but I'm not sure. I'm also trying to give it a little bit of ambient lighting on the left side. Not the proper colors, I know, but I'm doing this one step at a time.

Spent most of the day cleaning. Yey.

I like her tail. You may want to consider adding texture to your shading layer(s): no texture on smooth cloth or skin, charcoal texture on rough cloth or short fur, maybe carpet or grass or something on longer fur.

Oh, yeah, if you want a light source reminder, you could drop in a cartoony light bulb or sun in the corner where the light's coming from, maybe with a note or a face telling you how far in front or back of the subject it is.
