Amazing, I reinstall Windows XP (Professional, at that) and suddenly, I'm getting mad-crazy spyware/adware/whateverware popups. X_x Jeezus cripes.

i wish macs weren't the only real alternative to PCs. D:
i hate how microsoft purposely doens't fix their system: if your comp keeps breaking, you'll buy a new one = more money for sexy mr gates. T-T;;

the worst part is that i have a mac!loving friend irl (kathryn, i think you met her at an evil geniuses meeting).

I'd probably love a Mac, but they're so expensive. x_x I love my PC, because I'm actually able to pop the case open and fix it myself. But I try to keep my system clean and the fact that I REINSTALLED XP to clear these things out (because I was under the impression that it was a MUCH worse problem), it give me a whole DIFFERENT problem. *explodes*

And yeah, I know Kat. She's coolpeople. :D

This is why you keep a firewall handy - first thing once the OS is in, you get a firewall running; either the one XP provides, or something else like ZoneAlarm. And *then* you get online to download a handful of Service Packs, if you haven't burned them to CD yet.
