Stuff and BODY IN THE RIVER!
Jul. 1st, 2005 06:18 pmSo, I totally saw a body in the river today. I was heading home from mailing out stuff and picking up some foods and there were two police cars over by the bridge downtown and two women looking over the bridge. They were looking for something in the river, but they didn't find it. I figured a kid fell over or something, so I hung out for a moment. After they drove off, I figured nothing special was happening and started heading home down E. Market. And then there's more cop cars in a parking lot as well as an ambulance and a fire truck coming down the rode. I want to stick around and check things out, but I don't want to be in the way. I figured they were down near the river (there's a steep hill on the side of the river I was on at the moment, can't see much). So I went back around to the park trail to see what was up. I also figured that, if I kid or something fell in (I hate kids, but I'm not completely heartless and I'd totally be a hero. I'm such an attention whore.) I could move faster than the police since I was on a bike. I scoped things out from across the river and I heard two of the guys saying they found a body a little ways up. So, I headed up that way and, lo and behold, there was a body in the river. One of the cops had a stick holding its shirt, so I'm assuming that it was probably in the river awhile and really wasn't worth pulling out. More people started showing up where I was, since the authorities came to the other side of the river so they could take the boat across to get the body (as a result of the previously mentioned steep hill). And then they told us to head back up to the trail for 'privacy'. I figure, unless the family's there (which it more than likely isn't), what's the point of giving a dead body privacy? But we moved up and hung out to see if we could find out anything else (they couldn't tell us anything, of course) but they eventually told us to move back more and we all decided to head out. I went to the comic store to fill them in. The first question I get asked when I walk in?
"Who'd you push in the river?"
XD

Date: 2005-07-01 10:32 pm (UTC)at least you had an interesting day. me and my friend stumbled across one in an alley way once. some guy got shot in the head. the way he was laying you couldn't tell how he died, all i could see was his back and legs. anything from his chest up was covered by newpapers and boxes. *shudders* dead bodies are freaky.
