May. 23rd, 2004 09:31 amSo, we actually made it to the con yesterday. Even after sleeping in and all that. It's very....big. I'm not used to it, and it's very difficult to go to everything you want to do and see. The cosplayers are rockin', though. There were some Shrek cosplayers and lots of Naruto people, as usual. I didn't get batteries yesterday, so I should be able to get pictures and stuff today. I've been spending alot of time in the artists alley and less in the dealers room, cause there's not really much interesting that I want to buy. It's mostly DVDs and manga that I can get back home or that I'm not all that interested in. So eh.
Today we head back to the con to do...stuff. TJ and Matt want to meet David Kaye (Megatron from Beast Wars, or...Beasties up here in the strange north). I'll probably browse the art room some more. There's some prints I spotted that I want to pick up if I can spare the cash. I only spent, like, $3 yesterday on stuff. Two little drunken Jack Sparrow prints (one of me and TJ, I'll figure out which artist did it when I snag a business card) and a sticker that reads 'Will trade questionable touch for Pocky' and a cute foxy sticker. It's really cute. I saw a really, really cool guy Cheshire Cat print that I might pick up. I also ran into MincedNiku there. She was really nice. I wanted to pick up this print and this print, but I didn't have enough. Alas. The people that do the Extinictioners were there, too.
We have to take a shuttle to the hotel (a 15 minute walk, or so) to go to the anime viewings and all that. And then, when we decided to go back to the convention center it was raining. But not too bad. But the bus driver (read: asshole) told us that he's letting us off at the light by the convention center. Oh...lovely. So we get off and it starts raining HARDER. So we have to wait for the light and then run across three streets and the parking lot just to get back to the convention. And then halfway around the building and into the other parking lot to our car. Needless to say, it was cold, but it was fun.
So far, though, it hasn't been too bad. It's just weird because it's so, so much bigger than what I'm used to. But eh.
But in other news, I'm not feeling 'eh' anymore. So that's good. And TJ's attacking my head. Ooh...scritchin's. And screeing. And oh, wait, she was biting my head, not scratching it.
We've got to go to the dollar store and get a rubber ducky for TJ's devious plan.
OH! And the first day we were here walking around downtown we saw....A CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK TRUCK. @_@
