A Glossary to the Terms Used by Social Justice Assholes

Privilege-
What it actually means: A right, immunity, or benefit only enjoyed by a person beyond the advantages of most.
What they think it means: A word that is used as a trump card. They believe that by pointing out everyone’s apparent privileges they have effectively won the argument.

Trigger Warning-
What it actually means: A warning put before a post about/or featuring graphic acts of violence/gore/rape, to let those who have experienced such things know beforehand so they don’t get unwillingly triggered by it.
What they think it means: A thing they put before every post. Even ones that have pictures of holes, that way they don’t offend the trypophobes.

Racism-
What it actually means: 1) The belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2) A policy, system of government, etc. based upon fostering such a doctrine, discrimination. 3) Hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
What they think it means: Systematic oppression of other races by white people (and only white people).

Privilege Denying Dude-
What it actually means: A formerly-humorous meme involving a smug white guy denying his privileges.
What they think it means: A smug white guy that complains about people not knowing the elements in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Sexism-
What it actually means: 1) Discrimination or devaluation based on a person’s sex. 2) Believing your sex to be inherently superior
What they think it means: A guy holding a door opening for a woman for any reason whatsoever.

Mansplaining-
What it actually means: Nothing. It’s not a real word.
What they think it means: Their special little name for any critical evaluation of their beliefs.

Ableism-
What it actually means: Discriminating someone due to their disability, or treating them like an inferior.
What they think it means: Using words like crazy or insane, or believing that the concept of intelligence is valid.

Trolls-
What it actually means: An internet user who deliberately sends provocative messages in order to elicit an emotional response.
What they think it means: Anyone who disagrees with them. And anyone who disagrees with them gets blocked.

Rape culture-
What it actually means: A culture where rape and other sexual violence are common.
What they think it means: A guy complimenting a girl on her looks.

Transphobia-
What it actually means: Hatred towards people in the transgender umbrella
What they think it means: Someone’s refusal to use pronouns like zy/ze/zo/zum.

Kyriarchy-
What it actually means: A catch-all term for all privileges in society.
What they think it means: The system everyone who opposes them belongs to. Those who resist their movement must be “shot and kicked to the curb”.

I'm willing to run all the way...

Tonight, we're going up to Beachland to see the Cleveland Burlesque Company. It's mainly on a whim. Tony saw it and was interested and I won't pass up an opprotunity to dress up. We're probably going to go to Bounce or The Chamber afterwards, I imagine. We don't like to trek to Cleveland for just one thing.

I'm also trying to get Tony to leave earlyish to go to the West Side Market. It closes at 6PM, so we'd just have to find something to do between then and the show. I'd like to go to the art museum again, since it's free anyhow, but I don't know.

Yesterday, we were going to go up to campus for a mini furmeet thing, but stuff came up and then sleep hit Tony like ten tons of bricks and we didn't make it. Sorry, jevin! D: D: Planning ahead is, like, the bane of my existence because something ALWAYS tends to come up.

I also spent, like, four hours washing clothes yesterday morning. I mean, it wasn't all that bad. I just had SO much to wash because we hadn't had actual cash in a bit. So there were two full hampers of laundry and I managed to get it all the way up to the laundromat by Chipotle in one trip. I was pretty proud. Downside, I tried catching the bus on the way back and as I was going to cross the street, it turned down past the bus stop. :|
