Stuff and JESUS CHRIST.

Tyleet went early this morning. Not completely unexpected. She was old, as well, and had a tumor. And she hadn't been looking in the best of condition lately. She had that old face that rats get.
Now Hickory, her cagemate, is just...frazzled. She seems confused and lost without Tyleet. When Papaya passed on, they had each other to harass. But now that Tyleet's gone, Hickory doesn't really know what to do. She's just...not acting herself. Which really upsets me. I paired her up with Orange, and I hope that helps her some, but I know when we hard to pair one of the heartbroken gerbils up, he didn't last very long. Sometimes they can deal with it, sometimes they just...can't.
Silky is still alive, amazingly. He's simply acting how he always has, slow and sleepy. He's been getting those crazy moments, so I'm thinking he'll go soon. But I've been prepared for him to go for months upon months now. He's never been in the best of shape, and he was from a breeder! Two people ditched out on taking him home, and I was the only one who decided to.
This is all very tiring. I'm sure people are tired of my sad rat death stories, and I am, too. Everyone who's died as done so of relatively natural causes or of old age (so, there's no disease or sickness going around the colony), so it's not like I WASN'T expecting them to die. You've really gotta prep yourself their whole lives for that, so you can be ready for it. But, it's just SO hard since they've gone ALL AT ONCE.
