Me and TJ are fighting about something. I'm not even sure what about anymore. Something about the computer. And now she's ignoring me and loafing/sleeping in the great pile of clothes we have (which is, admittedly, very comfy and sleep-able).

Mar. 6th, 2004 11:46 pmOkay, so we discovered that we have a trojan on the computer. Apparently something that slipped in via Internet Explorer. This is FUBARing EVERYTHING. We discovered it via SimpleMU*.
This was originally the problem. We went about the directions on the Windows site, and we -thought- it fixed the problem, as TJ was able to connect to Battle Over Cybertron and, like, ElseMUX. HOWEVER, Matrix MUSH gave this error:
Status: unable to connect to this site:
( #11004 ) Valid name, no data record of requested type.
Status: an error occured, check the help file for additional information.
And Garou MUSH gave this error:
Status: unable to connect to this site:
( #11001 ) The host was not found, verify your address.
Status: an error occured, check the help file for additional information.
Now, the #11004 error is the one we originall got, but the other one had to do with the TCP/IP protocol. Which makes no sense that the new one doesn't. And the second one I'm just clueless on.
I re-did the Window instructions, like, 3 or 4 times. We upgraded IE to 6.0. I've been over the minimal options we have numerous times.
On top of that, IE refuses to open any pages now. I cannot use the LJ client, and god knows what else is screwed up.
And NOW, nothing will open in SimpleMU*. All it gives me is the #11004 error.
Also, is seems that everything I'm supposed to fix/delete/whatever simply isn't there. It's like, the trojan that we think we have really isn't there. It doesn't make sense...
Does ANYONE have ANY idea of what to do? I debated uninstalling IE and then reinstalling it, but will that mess up anything? I'm just exceedingly confused on what to do, because I don't want to fuck anything up. And I know SimpleMU* isn't the problem, but that's where we discovered it from.
But...uh. Yeah. Help?
