In an effort to not wear the same thing everyday (generally jeans and a tee), I've been making 'what I wore today' sets on Polyvore everyday I got out and about. It's kinda fun and breaks up the monotony of my other project on there: making uniform sets for all my characters. Why? Because I'm a masochist and I love them.

With the warm weather, fleas have invaded. The animals HAVE flea medication, but it's not helping them at all. I think, next summer, I will just splurge on Advantage and save myself the trouble. I found some carpet/furniture flea spray I bought last year, so I sprayed down the pet bedding in the other room with it. It's a start, though I still need to do our bedroom and will have to buy another can of it. I also need to gather up the carpets (thank goodness the house is 80% wood flooring) and borax/flea powder them, as well.

But I washed the animals today. A lot of people suggested VO5, so I bought a bottle of that and, if it doesn't help keep the fleas away, at least the animals will have some relief for a few days. The cats were surprisingly easy to wash, though Dean was much more mobile in trying to escape the tub. But Sam was decently behaved and just kind of waited for the hell to be over. They're more pissed to be stuck in the room with the dog right now than anything, I think.

If anyone follows my Twitter or Facebook, they already know I acquired a job. It's nothing terribly special, but it's SOMETHING and that's better than the NOTHING I've had for the last year.

It's in the kitchen for the Schwebel Room on the third floor of the student center. i'll be doing cold prep, like salads and all that. It's only ten hours a week and two days a week, but that means I can pick up something else on campus as well. I'm a little intimidated to work in the kitchen when it's not as a dishwasher, but I did some simple prep work at Aladdin's when I wasn't busy and it wasn't too bad. It'll just be a matter of learning everything and the chef there seems really laid back and helpful. He said he hasn't had any problems before with new workers and as long as you're willing to learn and not get overwhelmed (training is done on the job, which means you're thrown in the first day and it's a little like trial by fire), everything should be fine.

He has another girl that's been there for a year and will probably be training and helping me out with things.

But I'm glad to have a job, even if I don't start until the end of the month. Hopefully I can pick something else up on campus and we should be alright money-wise. I'm going to be god-awful busy, but if that's what it takes to keep my place and keep everything running smoothly, that's what it takes and I'm completely fine with that.

I also need to buy a few more pairs of jeans for work (comfortable, don't drag the floor, etc.) and maybe some insoles. I mean, I'm only going to be on my feet at work for five hours, but I also will be walking campus MWF and walking to and from campus daily (because the bus is never there when I need it and it drops me in front of campus which is way far from the student center and I may as well tackle Summit Hill and save myself the time. Plus, it's just dumb to take the bus from my house to front campus, then take the campus loop bus all the way around to the student center when I can walk twenty minutes and save myself the hassle.).

I'm thinking about dropping from a game I've been playing in. There's a number of reasons I won't bother touching on, but the main one is that: I am so not going to have the time for two games and I'd rather do my own game without restraints than have to worry about tagging and posting on a somewhat regular basis. I think it'll save me the headache in the long run. I don't want to be crazy overwhelmed with things, after all.

I haven't drawn anything since before my grandmother's funeral (before the 4th of July) and it's a little frustrating. I WANT to draw, but nothing happens when I try. Hopefully it'll pass soon.

that sucks about fleas :T
what i've always used was:
the original strength blue Dawn (not Ultra)

i learned this from a Humane Society worker.
something in the original dawn's blue dye kills them.

i diluted it in a spray bottle, sprayed everything, let it dry and vacuumed i did this everyday for a couple days and BAM! gone.
we also washed dogs we rescued in this.
but ONLY- if they don't have any scratches/sensitivity issues.

good luck D:

I'll have to give that a try as well. A lot of people suggested VO5, so I gave that a shot. I know it's not going to vanquish them overnight, but it's better than nothing for the moment.
