obliviousally_ljI spent all night cleaning the kitchen hardcore last night/this morning. Until, like, 6AM which I'm normally up to anyhow. BUT OH MY GOD IT'S SO NICE NOW. It's no secret that I'm absolutely ~awful~ when it comes to keeping my kitchen clean. I toss dishes in the sink and leave them there. It's really bad. I blame it on being forced to do dishes growing up (and not as a normal chore, but as a punishment, the two are different creatures), so doing dishes is almost a BAD thing in my mind, despite the fact that I love having a clean kitchen.
But I went all fucking out cleaning because I needed to organized the cupboards (we have little cupboard space for food and dishes and I was not making the most of it at all) and moved the foods we don't eat reguaraly down to the bottom cupboards. I cleaned out all the stands, cleaned the stove, wiped everything down, cleaned and organized the spice/baking cabinent and tossed out a lot of useless things we had.
It's SO much nicer down there now. I love having a clean, shiny kitchen and I'm sure it's the inner 50s housewife in me.
I need to clean the fridge out. There's a few lingering dishes hanging out in there (and a bowl in the bathroom, WTF?) and I need to make sure there's nothing there that's been forgotten and is moldy or something.
In other news, I fucking love castella cake. I didn't know what I was called (I was calling it soft/sweet cake) until TJ sent me a link to a Japanese food blog he reads that had a recipie for it. But I buy mine from the asian market in Cuyahoga Falls and FFS I love it.
I usually buy the swiss roll style ones, with the sweet butter/cream in them. But I bought some milk coffee ones the last trip up there and dflkghdflgkhdfl are they amazing. They're so soft and just sweet enough, never ever overwhelming. The coffee flavor is light and the're just fucking tasty. I'm probably going to eat the whole package in one sitting because I'm a fatty and they're amazing.
Started in on cleaning the craft room, which is a pretty big undertaking because it's where everything been getting tossed lately. So it's a lot of clutter and mess.
