STILL waiting on my financial aid money. I know they only started issuing refunds yesterday, but I got my money the first day last semester, so I was expecting the same this one. But I forget that summer session NEVER goes smoothly EVER. ANYWHERE. I'm getting less than I had initially realized (though, not by THAT much). I didn't do the math right. It's per CREDIT not per CLASS. DERP. But, whatever, as long as I can pay rent and bills for a few months. Continue the job hunt and HOPE TO GOD i find something. At least, now, I don't have to spend money on groceries anymore, since I get $360/month in foodstamps for that. Which I am, like, eternally grateful for.
Plus, next semester, I'm not taking a full course load. Maybe nine hours tops, so I can play catchup/repeat with the classes I've bombed thus far. It'll be better for me in the long run, I think.
I am going to go up to the financial aid office today and see if I can get an ETA on my refund, though. Angie was up there yesterday and had similar issues with her FAFSA (though she had other paperwork and stuff that needed to be processed) and she, apparently, might not get hers until after classes start (the 14th of this month). Which would be really lame. So I hope that's not the case for me. I just want to be able to tell my landlord when I'll be able to pay rent.
I've been up since 8AM (I only went to bed around 6AM). TJ woke up and wasn't feeling well at all. The short 'nap' had, apparently, been enough for me, so I'll run with it. It's not like I'm doing a whole lot else right now, anyhow. Since he went back to sleep for now, I'm just bumming around and making sure the cats don't get into Melanie's food.
Speaking of, we took her and Monthy (Angie's pug) out to the dog park at Silver Springs Park in Stow. They have a fenced small dog area and there was only one other person there. So we let her off leash with Monty and all she did was wander and sniff. She's a little standoffish with playing. I think that, because the last dog she lived with bullied her, she's just a little wary of rambunctious dogs. But she was friendly to everyone and socialized really well.
We also saw some amazing dog shenanigans in the big dog area with the beach. And this ~amazing~ huge white dog that looked like a whispy cloud with legs. I cannot, however, for the life of me remember what it was. We also learned there's a guy that brings his dog there who has ZERO control over him. Melanie and the dog had a barking match up and down the fence, as well. Though the dog didn't seem aggressive, jsut loud. The lady who was in the small dog area with us (she had a little deerhead chihuahua) told us that she watched the owner try to grab the dog's collar (or something of that effect) and the dog bit him. While we were there, he was just walking around the path, not even supervising his dog. We were all: :|
We've also been taking her for walks everyday, as long as it's nice out. Since TJ's been feeling icky, I took her around the last two days. Once around the neighborhood behind our house and yesterday down by the river and to the little park downtown. Really, we think that if she could be outside all the time she would. She really loves going for walks and exploring. It's a good thing I don't mind having a reason to get out and walk!
The cats are also dealing with her well. They still spook sometimes, but they know she's not a threat. Both Dean and Sam have actually gotten up close to sniff at her and she just sits there patiently. She really doesn't bother them at all and will walk away if they hiss at her. I think Dean's warming up a lot quicker, because he's tried playing with her tail and follows her around the house. Sam is just surly and probably still slighted at her presence, so he's been forcing me to love him a lot.
Other than that, I wish I could say I've been up to more. But it's been pretty boring around here lately.
So, instead, here's some dolls:

Made with this fabulous dollmaker which I am in love with.
